Kargil town was the coldest in the Kashmir Valley at minus 9 degrees Celsius on Sunday while the minimum temperatures across the region around the freezing point, the weather office said.

Keylong in Himachal shivers at minus 6C
Cold wave in Keylong of tribal Lahaul and Spiti district intensified Saturday as the night temperature fell further, especially in the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh, after the recent snowfall, the meteorological department said. Keylong, tourist destination Manali in Kullu district and Kalpa in tribal Kinnaur district continued to shiver under below-freezing point temperatures, Manmohan Singh, Shimla meteorological centre director, said. The lowest temperature in Himachal Pradesh was recorded in Keylong at minus 6.0 degree Celsius between 5.30 pm Friday and 8.30 am Saturday, he added. The minimum temperature in Kalpa was recorded at minus 1.0 degree Celsius; in Manali, the minimum temperature was minus 0.6 degree Celsius during the period. Higher reaches of Lahaul and Spiti, Kinnaur, Chamba, Shimla and Kullu districts received snowfall on Wednesday night.

It was a cold and partly cloudy Saturday morning in the city,with the minimum temperature settling at 12.7 degrees Celsius. Relative humidity was 78 per cent at 8.30 am. The Met department has forecast partly cloudy skies ahead in the day. The maximum temperature would be around 26 degrees Celsius. On Friday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 14.5 degrees Celsius, while maximum was 26.3 degrees Celsius.

Delhi witnesses cold, windy day
It was a cold and windy day in the national capital with the maximum temperature plunging to settle at 26.3 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average. The minimum temperature was recorded at 14.5 degrees Celsius, a notch above the normal, a Met department official said. The humidity oscillated between 94 and 38 per cent. The Met office has forecast clear skies along with mist and fog on Saturday morning. "The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover at 27 and 13 degrees Celsius respectively," the weatherman said. On Thursday, the minimum and maximum temperatures were recorded at 16.2 and 27.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Keylong in Himachal shivers at minus 5.4 degrees Celsius
Keylong in tribal Lahaul and Spiti districts of Himachal Pradesh continued to shiver below the freezing point Friday after recent snowfall in the high reaches of the state, the Meteorological department said. The lowest temperature in Himachal Pradesh has been recorded in Keylong at minus 5.4 degrees Celsius, the MeT officer said. Similarly the minimum temperature in Kalpa of Kinnaur district has been recorded as minus 1 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Kufri was recorded at 3.6 degrees Celsius and 7 degrees Celsius in Shimla. However, the MeT department predicted that the weather in Himachal Pradesh would remain dry in the next four days. Day temperature will slightly rise during the next 24 hours.

Rain lashes Delhi
Rains lashed different parts of Delhi on Wednesday with the minimum temperature settling at four notches above normal. "The minimum temperature was recorded at 17.6 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal, while the maximum temperature settled at 28.5 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year," a Meteorological (MeT) official said. The humidity levels oscillated between 94 and 47 per cent. Rains lashed different parts of Delhi, including central and eastern areas. Delhiites woke up to overcast skies in the morning following overnight rains in several parts of the city. However, no rainfall was recorded during the day. The weatherman has forecast cloudy skies for Thursday with the possibility of mist in the morning. "The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle around 27 and 15 degrees Celsius," the official added. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Tuesday were 29.4 and 14.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
Delhi's air quality improves to 'very poor', may worsen
