Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday said that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy should continue for next four terms."Jagan Mohan Reddy is very young but he has a huge responsibility. Andhra people should be happy during his rule. Both Telugu states need to be developed with mutual understanding," Rao said while speaking from the same dais where Reddy had taken the oath."The consumption of Godavari water should take place 100 per cent by the Andhra Pradesh government. There are difficulties related to Krishna water, Telangana state government will provide all the support. People of Andhra Pradesh have given a wonderful opportunity to Jagan. Jagan's rule should continue for the next three to four terms," he said.Rao had stuck a cordial relationship with Reddy against the backdrop of his rivalry with TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu. BS ReporterHyderabad, 25 October: Opposition YSR Congress Party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy escaped an alleged attempt on his life at Vizag airport this afternoon. In a chocking incident, a canteen employee attacked Jagan with a sharp object when the latter was in the VIP lounge inside the airport waiting to board a Hyderabad-bound flight.According to eyewitnesses, Jagan received a bleeding injury on his hand after Srinivas Rao, the accused, attacked him with a small knife-like metal object while reaching the leader under the pretext of taking a 'selfie'. The party men who were with their leader at the time of this incident, said the attacker surged forward to slash the neck but ended up piercing the shoulder as Jagan quickly turned away from the attacker.After a quick first-aid to his injury, Jagan flew back to Hyderabad amid commotion among the party cadre in Andhra Pradesh. SC seeks CBI's response on Jaganmohan Reddy's bail plea

The Supreme Court today issued notice to CBI seeking its response on the bail plea of YSR Congress leader Jaganmohan Reddy in a disproportionate assets case. A bench headed by Justice P Sathasivam asked the agency to file its response and posted the case for hearing on May 6. Jaganmohan has moved the apex court challenging the Andhra Pradesh High Court's January 24 order refusing to grant him bail in the case. Jaganmohan, who was arrested on May 27, last year by CBI on corruption charges, is presently under judicial custody and is lodged at the Chanchalguda Central Prison in Hyderabad. In October last year, the apex court had dismissed Reddy's bail plea in the case. While dismissing the bail application, the apex court had said that the petitioner was open to renew his bail before the trial court "on completion of the investigation by CBI" on certain aspects.
