Kollam (Kerala), Apr 16 (ANI): Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that he chose to fight from Kerala, other than his traditional Amethi Lok Sabha seat, because he wanted to give a message that 'India is not just one perspective' rather it is 'millions and millions of different viewpoint' which are 'important' for the country. "I normally fight the election from Amethi in north India but this time I chose to give a message to south India by fighting from Kerala. I wanted to give a message that India is not just one perspective, India is not just one idea, India is million and millions of different viewpoint, different perspectives and all of those are important to us," Gandhi said at a public rally in Kerala's Kollam.

Silchar (Assam), Apr 16 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary Ram Madhav on Tuesday announced that Assam's National Register of Citizens will be released in July end and predicted that the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill could also become reality by then. "The National Register of Citizens (NRC) to be released in July end. Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, will also come by then. Once both of these come; issues relating to foreigners will be resolved," Madhav told media in Assam's Silchar.

Balaghat (MP), Apr 16 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Ex-MLA and independent candidate from Balaghat Parliamentary constituency, Kishore Samrite has kept a unique demand for contesting the elections in front of the Election Commission on Monday. He is seeking permission to sell his kidney to raise funds to bear the expenses of election campaign. Kishore Samrite cited the election expenditure limit of Rs 75 lakh set by the poll body for a candidate and said that the election has thus become too expensive for him to bear. While speaking to media, Kishore Samrite, "Since last 15 days is left for the election, I urge EC to give me 75 lakh or else I have to sell my one of Kidneys." Mr Samrite had earlier represented Lanji assembly seat in Balaghat district as a Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate.
Bulandshahr (UP), Apr 16 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Police seized huge quantity of weapons and liquor during regular checking in the district. SSP N Kolanchi says, "405 illegal weapons, 739 cartridges, liquor worth Rs 2 crore, Rs 1.5 crore cash have been seized. We will continue checking like this." SP from Bulandshahr has ordered special checking prior to elections. Bulandshahr police has already issued warning to those people, who carry illegal weapon with them; they might even go behind the bars. Police till now have recovered crores of rupees.

His driver was also present on the spot when the incident took place. After hearing the sound of the bullet, police party nearby reached the spot. Accused has been arrested. Visakhapatnam (AP), Apr 16 (ANI): While speaking exclusively to ANI regarding Indian Coast Guard, Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat said, "You are aware that the Indian coast guards along with the Indian Navy is responsible for ensuring maritime surveillance and to ensure that our exclusive economic zone is monitored effectively, Coast Guard have been carrying out the task in a very professional manner and are continuously upgrading their effort. And, this can only happen if they are provided with additional resources. I'm very happy that today the Indian coast guard ship 'Veera' has been commissioned, which will add to the strength and will enable them to better and more effectively monitor the coastline and the surveillance along the seaboard." New Delhi, Apr 16 (ANI): Amazon Music, which comes under the e-commerce service's Prime benefits, is limited to the members who pay for the subscription that covers priority delivery, music, and video streaming as well. Amazon is now looking at introducing a new free music streaming service to rival Spotify. According to Billboard, Amazon has entered into discussions to launch a free, ad-supported music service. The service would be marketed through Amazon's Alexa-enabled Echo speakers. However, the purported service would offer a limited catalogue. To offer the music for free, Amazon has also offered to pay some record labels per stream. The service is likely to launch as early as next week.

New Delhi, Apr 16 (ANI): A shortened 15-second application time and an easy three-step technique for use of alcohol-based hand rub is as effective in reducing bacteria as the 30-second application and six-step technique recommended by World Health Organization(WHO), new research says. WHO recommends a six-step 'how to hand rub' technique for using alcohol-based hand rub. However, adherence to all six steps is low and previous research indicates that a simplified three-step hand rub technique is superior to the six-step technique in terms of compliance and killing bacteria. In this research, 20 healthy volunteers (aged 18 to 51 years) were randomly assigned to rub their hands by following four different techniques - the six-step hand hygiene technique for 30 seconds; the six-step hand hygiene technique for 15 seconds; the three-step hand hygiene technique for 30 seconds; and the three-step hand hygiene technique for 15 seconds.
