New Delhi, Mar 24 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on March 24 addressed the residents of Delhi and hailed them for their support which the administration is getting during the lockdown and the curfew. He also informed the Delhiites that in past 40 hours Delhi didn't record any confirmed case. However, Delhi is among the states which had recorded initial deaths due to COVID-19.
Kolkata, Mar 24 (ANI): Around 375 people are stuck at Howrah Railway Station since March 22 when the country observed 'Janta Curfew'. Indian Railways suspended all its passenger train services till March 31 in wake of coronavirus outbreak. People are sternly asked to stay home and lockdown is imposed in most parts of country. Most of these people are either from Assam or Bihar. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) distributed water, biscuits and tea among stranded passengers. Divisional Railway Manager of Howrah, Ishaq Khan said, "On the day of Janta Curfew, we performed thermal screening on each passenger who arrived here. Today around 375 stranded passengers are present outside the railway station. RPF barrack distributed tea and biscuits among stranded passengers." Lucknow (UP), Mar 24 (ANI): Amid COVID-19 confirmed cases rocketing in the country, Uttar Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary Awanish Awasthi on March 24 said that in past ten days over 1 lakh people from foreign countries arrived in the state and it is also a big challenge for the state. He said, "Uttar Pradesh has more than 23 crore people and it is one of the biggest states in the country, so to deal with the situation we should also be very effective. In past ten days over 1 lakh people from foreign countries has arrived in the state that is also a big challenge for us."

Pune (Maharashtra), Mar 24 (ANI): Pune-based Mylab Discovery Solutions Pvt Ltd has developed India's first indigenous COVID-19 testing kit that has been approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). A single kit costs Rs 80,000 and can test 100 patients. "We can produce 1 to 1.5 lakh tests in a week, we are trying to increase our production for the public. These kits cost 1/4th the price that the imported kits are being sold for," said Ranjit Desai, Scientist at Mylab Discovery Solutions Pvt Ltd. The total number of active cases has jumped over 440 in the country.
New Delhi, Mar 24 (ANI): After a Monday mayhem, equity benchmark indices extended early gains in choppy trade on Tuesday amid some government relaxations on statutory and regulatory compliance-related issues. New Delhi, Mar 24 (ANI): Addressing a press conference in Delhi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman informed that last date for income tax return of financial year 18-19 has been extended to June 30. "The last date for the income tax return for the financial year 18-19 is extended to 30th June 2020. For delayed payments interest rate has been reduced from 12 percent to 9 percent ," said Nirmala Sitharaman.

"Aadhar and PAN linking date have been extended to June 30. Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme from April 1 to June 30, no additional 10% charge at all. The last date for March, April, May 2020 GST returns and Composition returns extended to June 30th, 2020," said FM.

"Debit card holders who withdraw cash from any bank's ATM can do it free of charge for the next 3 months. There shall not be any minimum balance requirement fee (in bank accounts)," said Finance Minister.

This first-of-its-kind-in-Indiacentre is fully funded by Reliance Foundation and includes a negative pressure room that helps in preventing cross contamination and helps control infection. In 2 weeks, Reliance in collaboration with BMC, has set up a dedicated 100-bedded centre at Seven Hills. All beds are equipped with the required infrastructure, biomedical equipment such as ventilators, pacemakers, dialysis machines, and patient monitoring devices. 101 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported in Maharashtra so far.
New Delhi, Mar 24 (ANI): Delhi Police Commissioner, SN Shrivastava told that police officials faced a little difficulty while clearing the protest sites in Jamia and Shaheen Bagh. He said, "Action will be taken against all those who are found violating the prohibitory order under Section 144 Cr PC that is in place in Delhi. However, the response to the order has been good till now. While we were clearing the protest sites in Jamia, Shaheen Bagh and other areas today, some people have been arrested and detained as we faced a little difficulty.
