Leap day: 182 Sadhaks perform 108 Surya Namaskaras at Statue of Unity

Kevadia (Gujarat), Feb 29 (ANI): 182 Yog Sadhaks from Vadodara's Yoganiketan performed 108 Surya Namaskaras in Kevadia on leap day. They performed yoga in the premises of 182-meter tall Statue of Unity at Kevadia in Narmada district. The programme was organised by Sir Sayajirao Institute of Research in Yoga, Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Music and Allied Sciences of Vadodara on the occasion of leap year.

Hyderabad, Feb 29 (ANI): Telangana Ministers KT Rama Rao, Etela Rajender, Talasani Srinivas Yadav and others ate chicken on stage in Hyderabad in a bid to end rumours that Coronavirus is transmitted through chicken and egg. Sales dropped in Indian poultry market by almost 50 percent after the rumours spread by social media that coronavirus can be spread through chicken and eggs.

Cops bid adieu to Mumbai CP Sanjay Barve in farewell ceremony

Mumbai, Feb 29 (ANI): A farewell ceremony was organised for Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Barve on February 29. Barve was to retire on August 31, 2019, but he was twice given three-month extensions owing to the state polls. A decision about the new police commissioner is likely to be taken soon when Barve's extension comes to an end. Barve had taken over as the commissioner of Mumbai city on February 28, 2019 and was granted two extensions in August and November.

Locals back to work as normalcy gradually returns to Northeast Delhi after violence

New Delhi, Feb 29 (ANI): Normalcy has gradually started to return in parts of Northeast Delhi which gripped by communal clashes for over four days. Locals started to go back to their daily routine. Shops have opened, vehicles started to run on the roads as well. Police force remained deployed in the violence-affected Northeast Delhi to keep an eye on the situation. No fresh violence was reported. One of the locals told ANI, "Situation is better now. People are going to their work. Shops have started to open. The atmosphere is good here now." Few days ago, anti and pro CAA groups clashed in parts of Northeast Delhi, which resulted in major loss of lives and properties. At least 42 people lost their lives in the violence.

Action will be taken against them who'll be involved in atrocities against Dalits: Sachin Pilot

Jodhpur (Rajasthan), Feb 29 (ANI): Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot said that the atrocities against Dalits have taken seriously and action will be taken against them who'll be involved. While speaking to mediapersons in Jodhpur, Pilot said, "We have taken the atrocities against Dalits seriously, it is shameful and I condemn such incidents. We'll take action against those involved, if there are shortcomings in our administration and governance then we should address it." Further, he also addressed the issue of corruption. He said, "I feel, its high time now we should take action to remove corruption from its roots."

Sedition Charge: Ensure speedy trial in fast-track court, says Kanhaiya Kumar

Ranchi (Jharkhand), Feb 29 (ANI): The Delhi Government on Friday gave a go-ahead to prosecute former JNUSU President Kanhaiya Kumar and two others involved in the JNU Sedition case. Speaking on this CPI leader Kanhiya Kumar said that this matter was delayed for the political benefit. "The charge-sheet was filed for the first time when I was about to contest the election and now elections are going to be held in Bihar again. There is NDA govt in Bihar, the state govt has passed a resolution in the assembly against NRC-NPR. It is clear that this matter was created and delayed for political benefit. I want a speedy trial in a fast-track court so that the entire country gets to know how a law like Sedition is being misused," said Kanhiya Kumar on charge-sheet that has been filed against him.

LinkedIn is testing Snapchat-like Stories for professionals

New Delhi, Feb 29 (ANI): LinkedIn may soon introduce Snapchat-like stories on its platform. Pete Davies, head of content products at LinkedIn, wrote in an official blog that Stories "offer a lightweight, fun way to share an update without it having to be perfect or attached to your profile forever." With LinkedIn Stories, the company aims to test how the conversational format works for the professional platform. The feature is being tested internally and is expected to be rolled out to others in the coming months.

3 coronavirus positive students cured: Kerala Health Minister

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Feb 28 (ANI): Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja informed that three students were cured who were found positive with coronavirus. "We succeeded in the first part, that of containing coronavirus. 3 students who were found to be corona-positive were isolated, now they are stable. They were cured," said Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja. "One person from Malaysia came to Ernakulam airport. He had symptoms like sore throat, fever. We can't say that it is coronavirus but we've kept the person in the isolation ward. Samples were sent to Virology Institute. I think his result will come tomorrow," Kerala Health Minister further added.

Ram Sevak, a resident of Nehru Vihar, who is living with his family for the past 35 years said that his family has never faced any problem and during the violence Muslim brothers said to him that go sleep there will be no harm. At least 42 people, including a police head constable, died while around 200 people sustained serious injuries in the violence that raged for three days in parts of the national capital. Sensex bleeds by 1,448 points as rising coronavirus kills investor risk appetite

New Delhi, Feb 28 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices were in free fall on Black Friday after a sustained global sell-off on coronavirus fears. At the closing bell, the BSE SandP Sensex was down by 1,448 points or 3.64 per cent to 38,297 while the Nifty 50 plunged by 414 points or 3.56 per cent at 11,219. All sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the red with Nifty metal down by 7.34 per cent, IT by 5.27 per cent, PSU bank by 4.97 per cent and auto by 3.76 per cent.
