Male accused shot dead by police, even as two killed in London stabbing

London (United Kingdom), Nov 30 (ANI): The male accused, suspected of stabbing several people at London Bridge, was shot dead by the police on Friday. Two of the injured persons succumbed to the stabbing wounds. The killed person was wearing a 'hoax explosive device', and his action has been termed as a terrorist attack. However, three other injured people are being treated in a nearby hospital.

Class 10 student develops thermoelectric stove capable of cooking food and charging mobile simultaneously

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Nov 30 (ANI): A class 10 student in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow has developed a thermoelectric stove generator which can cook food and charge mobile phone at the same time. Pranjal Shrivastav has invented the stove, which cost him just Rs 400 to assemble. The thermoelectric stove generator has a USB port attached from which a single mobile phone can be charged while simultaneously cooking food. Pranjal wants his invention to be a part of rural households where it can be used as an alternate source of energy as it costs just 400 rupees.

SFI hold candle light march against Hyderabad doctor's rape, murder

Hyderabad, Nov 30 (ANI): Students' Federation of India (SFI) in Osmania University held a candle light rally condemning a veterinarian's rape and murder incident. The 26-year-old veterinarian was raped and burnt alive in Shadnagar area of Ranga Reddy district of Hyderabad. Meanwhile, an unidentified woman, aged 30, was found burnt to death in Cyberabad on Friday (November 29).

Scuffle broke out between ABVP students, police at HP University in presence of HRD Minister

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Nov 30 (ANI): A scuffle broke out between Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) students and police in presence of Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal and MoS Finance Anurag Thakur in Shimla on Friday (November 29). The students said that they wanted to discuss issues concerning the university with the ministers but they did not pay heed to their voices. "We are very disappointed with the HRD Minister's visit. We just wanted him to listen to our demands. We wanted to speak on the issues concerned to the students. It is highly condemnable," Ankit Chandel, an ABVP student leader said.He said that the budget allocated for the university last year was Rs 15 crore and 5 crore is yet to be sanctioned by the HRD ministry. 82% Indians feel technology is making workplaces efficient: Study

New Delhi, Nov 30n (ANI): Majority of Indians are of the view that technology is helping create a more efficient work environment by providing better jobs and opportunities. According to research conducted by Lenovo on more than 15,000 individuals from 10 global markets, 82 percent of Indian respondents believe the use of smart technology is enhancing the work environment. 73 percent respondents in India believe tech helps people like them to get good jobs and enhance careers. Interestingly, 83 per cent of employees from India are happy for artificial intelligence (AI) to take over the 'boring' parts of their jobs.

Extra security in Ludhiana ahead of implementation of FASTag lanes

Ludhiana (Punjab), Nov 30 (ANI): Extra security force will be deployed in Punjab's Ludhiana ahead of implementation of FASTag stickers from December 15. FASTag will be implemented from December 15 across all national highways. Ladhowal Police Station's SHO, Balwinder Singh, said "Security has been tightened up nearby toll plazas." It is said that 'FASTag lanes' will make travel through toll plazas seamless and also remove congestion. FASTag is a sticker that has to be put at the front windshield of your vehicle. This sticker becomes the radio frequency identity of your car which is automatically read by the sensors placed at the toll plazas.

Hallmarking to be mandatory for gold jewellery from 2021: Paswan

New Delhi, Nov 29 (ANI): Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan on November 29 announced that hallmarking will be mandatory for gold jewellery which will come into force from January 15, 2021. "The government will issue a notification on January 15, 2020 to make hallmarking mandatory for gold jewellery and it will come into force one year later, that is from January 15, 2021," said Paswan. He informed about the development in a press briefing in the national capital.

New Delhi, Nov 29 (ANI): Sri Lanka President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on November 29 announced that island nation will release the boats belonging to India which is in the custody of their authorities. Rajapaksa said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he had a brief discussion over issue of fishermen. "We (PM Modi and President Rajapaksa) discussed in length the fishermen issue. Sensex falls by 336 points ahead of GDP data, metal stocks dip

Mumbai, Nov 29 (ANI): Equity markets witnessed profit booking on Friday amid expectations of slower GDP numbers for the September quarter (Q2 FY20) and weak global cues. At the closing bell, the BSE SandP Sensex was down by 336 points or 0.82 per cent to 40,704. The Nifty 50 tumbled down by 95 points or 0.78 per cent at 12,056. All sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the red except for Nifty realty which was up by 0.98 per cent. But Nifty media was down by 2.4 per cent, PSU bank by 1.7 per cent metal by 1.2 per cent, auto by 1.1 per cent and FMCG by 0.9 per cent.

Hyderabad rape-murder case: Victim should've called '100' instead of her sister, says Telangana HM

Hyderabad, Nov 29 (AN): Telangana Home Minister, Mohd Mahmood Ali on alleged rape and murder case of a woman veterinary doctor said that the victim should have called '100' instead of calling her sister. "We are saddened by the incident; police is alert and controlling crime. It is unfortunate that she called her sister and not '100', had she called '100' she could have been saved," he said. A veterinary doctor in Telangana was allegedly raped and brutally murdered on November 28. Hyderabad Police on Nov 29 arrested the accused persons involved in the case. The case was reported in Shadnagar police station limits. The accused are a lorry driver and cleaners, police sources said.

12 arrested in Ranchi gang-rape case

Ranchi (Jharkhand), Nov 29 (ANI): A girl was abducted in Ranchi's Kanke area and gang-raped by 12 men at gunpoint. All the accused were arrested by police.
