Congress files petition seeking disqualification of MLA Aditi Singh: Aradhana Misra

Lucknow (UP), Nov 27 (ANI): After showing the door to 10 senior leaders of the party, the Congress has now filed a petition seeking disqualification of its Raebareli legislator Aditi Singh. The petition has been filed by Congress Legislature Party leader Aradhana Misra before the Speaker of Vidhan Sabha. "Party has filed a petition before state Assembly Speaker seeking disqualification of Rae Bareli Sadar MLA Aditi Singh, for defying party whip of boycotting special session of state Assembly on October 2, organized by government," Aradhana Misra added.

Mumbai, Nov 27 (ANI): While speaking to ANI on BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis's resignation, BJP's Babanrao B Pachpute said, "Everything changed after the Supreme Court decision came and then Ajit dada resigned due to his personal reasons. We had a BJP Core Committee meeting right after Pawar's resignation and we decided that we don't have the numbers and Devendra Fadnavis should resign and we should not indulge in horse trading." He further said, "In this entire scenario, BJP understood the matter so well. No horse trading should happen." Speaking on alliance with Ajit Pawar, Babanrao said, "Ajit dada came and met us. Cartosat-3 spacecraft, 13 commercial satellites placed into their orbits: ISRO Chief

Sriharikota (Andhra Pradesh), Nov 27 (ANI): The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on November 27 injected Cartosat-3 spacecraft and 13 commercial satellites successfully into their designated orbits. While speaking after the launch of PSLV-C47, ISRO chief, Dr K Sivan said, "I am happy that PSLV-C47 injected precisely in the orbit with 13 other satellites. Cartosat-3 is highest resolution civilian satellite, we have 13 missions up to March- 6 large vehicle missions and 7 satellite missions."

Air quality of Delhi remains 'poor'

New Delhi, Nov 27 (ANI): A thick layer of smog blankets Delhi on November 27. Additionally, the air quality of national capital also took a major hit due to a combination of firecracker emissions, stubble burning and unfavourable meteorological conditions in past one month. According to the Air Quality Index (AQI) data, major pollutants at Lodhi road area were PM 2.5 at 205 in 'poor' category and PM 10 at 210, also in 'poor' category. In Delhi, public health emergency has been declared by EPCA. To curb air pollution, Delhi govt had earlier implemented odd-even scheme from Nov 04-15.

ISRO'S PSLV C-47 carrying Cartosat-3 satellite is set to launch from Sriharikota

Sriharikota (AP), Nov 27 (ANI): The countdown for the launch of PSLV-C47 carrying Cartosat-3 commenced on Nov 27. The launch is scheduled at 09:28 am. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to launch PSLV-C47 carrying Cartosat-3 and 13 nano-satellites from Satish Dhawan Space Centre Shar at Sriharikota on Nov 27. The satellite will be placed in an orbit of 509 kms at an inclination of 97.5 degrees.

Increase in air pollution linked to higher glaucoma risks

New Delhi, Nov 27 (ANI): In a recent study, it has been found that people residing in places with higher amounts of fine particulate matter pollution were 6 per cent more likely to suffer from glaucoma than those in the least polluted areas. The study was published in the journal, 'Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, 2019.' Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness and affects over 60 million people worldwide. It most commonly results from a build-up of pressure from fluid in the eye, causing damage to the optic nerve that connects the eye to the brain. Glaucoma is a neurodegenerative disease.

Gujarat HC directs police to trace women missing from Nithyananda Ashram

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Nov 27 (ANI): The Gujarat High Court on Tuesday (November 26) directed the state police administration to trace the two missing women, believed to be abroad, in Nithyananda case, and produce them before court, even as the next hearing in the case has been allotted for December 10. Advocate Pritesh Shah said, "This writ will be alive till they appear in court." The habeas corpus petition was moved by a Bengaluru-based couple who claimed their daughters are being 'illegally confined' by Nithyananda's acolytes in his ashram.
