Taking every measure to counter IED threats: CRPF IG

Srinagar, Nov 26 (ANI): CRPF Inspector General Ravideep Singh Sahi on November 26 reacted on improvised explosive device (IED) blast threat in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the security forces are aware of it and they are taking every measure to counter the IED threats. "We are aware of these threat and we have taken all the counter measures which are required to counter these threat," said Shahi. Earlier in the day, two people were injured in a grenade blast near Kashmir University gate in Srinagar on Tuesday afternoon. Investigation is underway.

President Kovind greets nation on 70th anniversary of Constitution Day

Mumbai, Nov 26 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered that a floor test will be held in the Maharashtra Assembly before 5 pm on November 27. Senior Advocate Devadutt Kamat for Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena said, "SC has directed Floor Test tomorrow at 5pm, to be conducted by Pro-tem Speaker. During Floor Test, there will be no secret ballot and proceedings will be telecast live."

Two terrorists killed in fire exchange in J-K's Pulwama

Pulwama (J-K), Nov 26 (ANI): Two terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces at Tachwara village in Pulwama. The encounter happened on Nov 25. One terrorist was killed on Nov 25, while the other was killed on Nov 26. The terrorists have been identified as Irfan Ahmed and Irfan Sheikh, police said. Irfan Ahmed was a listed and a wanted Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist. Earlier today, police arrested a terrorist in Baramulla district and recovered a hand grenade from his possession.

Mumbai, Nov 26 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered that a floor test will be held in the Maharashtra Assembly before 5 pm on November 27. Speaking in the matter after the top Court verdict, former chief minister Prithviraj Chavan welcomed Supreme Court decision. He further said, "Tomorrow, at 11 am, members to take oath and at 5pm Pro-tem Speaker to hold Floor Test in Maharashtra Assembly. All 3 parties (Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena) are satisfied with the Supreme Court order. Devendra Fadnavis should resign today." The top court also ordered for the floor test to be telecast live.

RTC workers detained by police in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Nov 26 (ANI): Road Transport Corporation workers, who were ready to join back services, were detained by police on Nov 26. Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees were on strike since October 05, demanding the merger of the TSRTC with the state government. Road Transport Corporation-Joint Action Committee (RTC-JAC) had issued an order on Nov 25 to call off the strike and had asked employees to join back services.

Sabarimala case: Man allegedly sprayed chilli powder at a social activist in Ernakulam

Ernakulam (Kerala), Nov 26 (ANI): Chilli and pepper powder was allegedly sprayed at a social activist in Kerala's Ernakulam on Nov 26. The incident happened outside Ernakulam city police commissioner's office today morning. Bindu Ammini is one of the two women, who first entered the Sabarimala Temple in January, this year. Speaking about the incident, Bindu Ammini said, "A man sprayed chilli and pepper at my face." Recently, Supreme Court allowed women to enter the Sabarimala temple while Kerala government denied any sort of protection to the women.
