ED arrests aides of Anil Deshmukh in money laundering case

Mumbai, June 26 (ANI): The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested two aides of former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh in connection with the charges of money laundering against the politician who allegedly took a bribe of up to ?100 crore. Deshmukh's personal secretary Sanjeev Palande and personal assistant Kundan Shinde were arrested under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). They both have been taken to medical from ED office.

Mumbai, June 26 (ANI): After interrogation, India's most wanted gangster Dawood Ibrahim's brother Iqbal Kaskar was sent back to judicial custody of MCOCA Court, informed NCB DDG (South West region), MA Jain on June 26. "Dawood Ibrahim's brother Iqbal Kaskar is being sent back to judicial custody of MCOCA court, Thane after interrogation. We had some inputs and wanted to question him. We asked the court for his 2-day remand. We haven't arrested him. Probe on," said DDG Jain.

Highest-single day vaccination result of coordinated planning: Health Secretary

New Delhi, June 22 (ANI): Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan interacted with media on June 22 over the vaccination in India and situation of COVID-19. He said that highest-single day vaccination was not sudden but a result of coordinated planning. Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan answered on being asked how government achieved highest-single vaccination, "What happened yesterday was not sudden but a result of coordinated planning. Between June 1-21, average daily vaccination was 34,62,841 so a jump to 88 lakh when vaccines and capacity are available is possible".

Rural outreach is possible as IT system is being used and rural systems, vaccines are being delivered in rural areas and so on. We have full assurance and confident that rural areas can be fully covered."

Cabinet expansion buzz: 'No plan to meet PM', says Bihar CM on Delhi visit

New Delhi, June 22 (ANI): During a UN Security Council debate on the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan on June 12, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stressed on development partnership with Afghanistan to make it self-sustaining nation. "India committed to steadfastly supporting Afghanistan during its transition. Our development partnership, including over 550 community development projects covering 34 provinces, is aimed at making it a self-sustaining nation. Additionally, we have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Afghanistan for building the Shatoot dam, which would provide safe drinking water to the residents of Kabul city," Said EAM Jaishankar at UNSC.

Terrorist safe havens must be dismantled immediately for enduring peace in Afghanistan: Jaishankar

New Delhi, June 22 (ANI): Calling for a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire to ensure reduction in violence in Afghanistan, External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar on Tuesday said that terrorist safe havens and sanctuaries must be dismantled immediately for enduring peace in the war-torn country. In his statement during the UNSC Debate on the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, the Minister said there is a need to be zero tolerance for terrorism in all its forms and manifestations including cross-border terror acts.
