Patna blast:'Victim claims gas cylinder caught fire', says SSP

Patna (Bihar), Feb 10 (ANI): While talking on an'explosion'case in Bihar's Patna, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Upendra Sharma said that according to doctors injured had typical burn injuries. "All injured have superficial burn injuries; there is not any explosion injuries.7 people have been injured in the incident. Doctor has said that they have superficial burns, not blast injuries. The forensics team will be here shortly. Victim has stated that she had gone to heat some water, when the gas cylinder caught fire,"SSP further added. Five people were injured in an explosion in Bihar's Patna on February 10. The incident took place at a house in Patna. The injured people have been shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.

The fest took place from February 04- February 06. National Commission for Women (NCW) took cognizance of alleged sexual assault on students of Delhi University's Gargi College for women. Global coronavirus death toll mounts to 904

New Delhi, Feb 10 (ANI): The death toll in the deadly coronavirus outbreak in China and other parts of the world has reached 904, CNN reported citing Chinese authorities. The number of infected people globally has now hit the 40,000 mark. The novel coronavirus was first detected in China's Wuhan city in late December and has since spread to more than 25 countries. On Sunday, the new coronavirus even surpassed the fatalities caused by the SARS epidemic in 2003. The World Health Organisation has declared a global health emergency in the wake of the outbreak. Meanwhile, WHO international expert mission led by Dr Bruce Aylward embarked for China.

Gargi College sexual assault: DCW issues notices to Delhi Police, college administration

New Delhi, Feb 10 (ANI): Chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), Swati Maliwal arrived at Gargi College in Delhi on February 10. Students of Gargi College have alleged sexual assault by outsiders during their fest. While speaking to mediapersons, Swati said, "We are investigating the matter and issuing notices to Delhi Police and college administration. Action should be taken against those who did this and those who protected them." Reportedly, a senior woman officer, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Geetanjali Khandelwal will lead the inquiry on Gargi College case. Woman lecturer who was set ablaze in Wardha, dies

Nagpur (Maharashtra), Feb 10 (ANI): Dr Anup Marar, Director, Orange City Hospital and Research Center, Nagpur informed that 24-yr-old female lecturer who was set ablaze, died today due to septicemic shock."The patient was declared dead at 6.55am today. The probable cause of death was Septicemic shock. Her body has been handed over to police authorities for postmortem," said Dr Anup Marar. Equity indices slip on coronavirus concerns, metal and auto stocks drag

New Delhi, Feb 10 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices traded lower during early hours on February 10 amid concerns over the impact of coronavirus on global economy. At 10:15 am, the BSE SandP Sensex was down by 246 points to 40,896 while the Nifty 50 slipped by 69 points at 12,029. All sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the negative zone with Nifty metal down by 2.1 per cent and auto by 0.94 per cent. Among stocks, Tata Steel dipped by 3.9 per cent at Rs 452.30 per share while Vedanta was down by 1.9 per cent at Rs 141.85 apiece. Auto stocks too slipped substantially with Mahindra and Mahindra down by 4.1 per cent, Tata Motors by 1.9 per cent and Eicher Motors by 1.3 per cent. The other prominent losers were ONGC, Coal India, Britannia, Zee Entertainment and Grasim. However, UPL, Cipla, Bharti Infratel, ICICI Bank and Yes Bank traded with a positive bias. High dose intake of opioid is not effective in reducing pain

New Delhi, Feb 10 (ANI): A recent study has established that high dose intake of opioid is not effective in reducing pain. The researchers' team from Central Arkansas and Minneapolis VA Health Care Systems and three universities have suggested after studying available data that patients who got their opioid dosage increased were not helped by the higher dosage as compared to those, who continued with earlier dosage. The Veterans Affairs study looked at prescribing data of more than 50,000 VA patients taking opioids.
