He said, "The extent of neglect that Northeast has suffered over half a century under Congress rule is a testimony in itself. The development that has happened in the last 5 years in the Northeast is more than what has been seen in the last 65 years."
Bengaluru, Dec 11 (ANI): Police Commissioner of Bengaluru city Bhaskar Rao travelled in a bus on December 11. The aim behind him travelling in a bus was to encourage people to use of public transport as much as possible. He was also seen interacting with the fellow commuters.
Dibrugarh (Assam), Dec 11 (ANI): Heavy security was deployed in Assam's Dibrugarh as the protests against Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 continued in the state. Several trains were cancelled and schedules were altered due to indefinite 'Rail Roko' protest by several organisations. The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 was passed in Lok Sabha with a majority of 311 votes against 80. The bill will be tabled in Rajya Sabha today.
Bengaluru, Dec 11 (ANI): Sale of onions has increased in Bengaluru after the prices came down on December 11. Previously, onions were being sold for Rupees 140 to Rupees 200. The rate has come down to Rupees 60 to Rupees 100. Decrease in cost has come as a relief for buyers. Speaking to ANI, a seller said, "Onion prices have decreased. Now, people are purchasing it in larger quantity."
New Delhi, Dec 11 (ANI): After attending BJP parliamentary party meeting, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the meeting said that the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 will be written in golden letters for people who are persecuted on basis of religion. He further told media persons, "CAB will be tabled in Rajya Sabha today and it will be passed in the house with comfortable majority". Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 was passed in Lok Sabha with a majority of 311 votes against 80.
New Delhi, Dec 11 (ANI): On being asked if China is playing bigger role than India in Maldives, Foreign Affairs Minister of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid said, "If you look at difficult situations that Maldives had in past, which country came to Maldives' assistance? India has been the 1st country to come to our assistance, every time. India has a bigger heart. Maldives has the best relations with India."
Patna (Bihar), Dec 11 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav held protest against Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019. Tejashwi Yadav condemned CAB calling it 'anti-humanity'. He said, "We hold that this law will break the country. This act is against the Constitution. All the decisions by NDA government have been flopped and harmed the country." Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 was passed in Lok Sabha on December 09. The bill will be tabled in Rajya Sabha today. Anti-CAB protest is being held in several parts of the country.
New Delhi, Dec 11 (ANI): While speaking to ANI on Article 370 revocation, Maldives Foreign Affairs Minister, Abdulla Shahid said, "Indian Constitution can be amended by Indian people and Parliament. It is not for neighbouring countries to interfere. It is an internal affair." On being asked on Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019, he said, "India's Parliament is an elected Parliament, it is for the members of the Parliament to take a decision. It is not for us to comment on it. Let the Parliament do it."
Sheohar (Bihar), Dec 11 (ANI): A suspicious eagle bird was found in Bihar's Sheohar on December 10. A camera, solar plate and many other strange things were found on the body of the eagle. The locals saw the eagle and later handed it over to the police. Police investigation is on in the matter.
Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Dec 11 (ANI): A man was beaten up by a woman constable for allegedly harassing the school girls in UP's Kanpur. The video has gone viral and the woman constable was seen beating him for 22 times in almost 30 seconds. Speaking on the matter, a police official said, "Anti-Romeo Squad got the information that a man is allegedly harassing some school girls. So, the team immediately took the action against him. We arrested the accused and put him in judicial custody. We want to give message to all the anti-social elements that respect the women."

New Delhi, Dec 11 (ANI): Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 will be tabled in Rajya Sabha on Dec 11. Speaking on it, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said, "What is this new definition that those who won't support the Bill are against the country? Can't we express our feelings and thinking in Parliament and even outside of it? Those who are protesting against it in Northeast are also the citizen of India. So, are all of those traitors?" He further said, "We have to clear our doubts on this bill, if we don't get satisfactory answers then our stand could be different from what we took in Lok Sabha."

Mumbai, Dec 11 (ANI): Mumbai Police have arrested two men for stealing onions from two shops in Dongri area of Mumbai. They had stolen around 168 kg onions worth Rs 21,160. The incident took place on December 05 and was captured in CCTV camera.
Darjeeling (West Bengal), Dec 11 (ANI): An elephant got killed after being hit by a passenger train on December 11. The incident took place near Batasi area in West Bengal's Darjeeling. The engine of the train hit it when elephant was trying to cross the tracks in the jungle.
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Dec 11 (ANI): Farmers staged protest over sugarcane minimum support price in UP's Lucknow. They demanded hike in minimum support price of sugar and also the payment of dues. Farmers showed their anger by burning stubble. They also raised slogans of 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan' and 'Bharatiya Kisan Union Zindabad'. The 'Bharatiya Kisan Union' had also announced to carry out protests in different parts of the state to press for their demands.

As per AQI, PM 2.5 and PM 10 were at 264 and 250 respectively at Lodhi Garden which falls under 'poor' category. There is no change in pollution level even after the temperature has been down by several degrees.
West Midnapore (West Bengal), Dec 11 (ANI): A two headed snake was found in WB's West Midnapore. It was found in the Ekarukhi village of Belda forest range. The species of snake is identified as 'Naja Kaouthia'. Speaking to ANI on the matter, Zoologist Soma Chakraborty said, "The species of the two-headed snake is 'Naja Kaouthia', which is locally known as 'Keute' or in hindi 'Kala Naag'. The venom of this snake is neurotoxic."
