Woman charred to death in Malda

Malda (WB), Dec 05 (ANI): When news of a rape victim in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao being set on fire by the accused shocked the nation, a similar heinous incident came into surface from West Bengal's Malda where a woman was charred to death at a mango garden in her village. Police have lodged a case and sent the body for the post mortem. Preliminary investigation suggests that the accused used kerosene to set the victim on fire. The victim had filed a rape case against men from her village. Earlier today, a rape survivor was set on fire by the accused and other men in Unnao when she was heading to a local court.

Youth should adopt Khadi: CM Gehlot

Jaipur (Rajasthan), December 5 (ANI): Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot recently inaugurated the newly-constructed building of Khadi Gramodyog Bhawan in Jaipur. He also unveiled a statue of the 'Father of Nation' Mahatma Gandhi on the campus and visited the Khadi exhibition.During the programme Chief Minister Gehlot has said that promotion of Khadi institutes and the rural industries is a priority of the State Government. Government has decided to give 50% rebate on Khadi products on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi with the idea of establishing a kind of bond or association of new generation with Khadi.He also called upon the youth to adopt Khadi clothes as it would empower and promote Khadi weavers, knitters, craftsmen and rural industry workers On this occasion, the Chief Minister also awarded the workers and other stakeholders associated with Khadi industry for their good performance.

Jaya Bachchan expresses anguish on Unnao rape survivor's murder

New Delhi, Dec 05 (ANI): Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan on crimes against women expressed anguish over the incident that took place in Unnao and asserted that they are not being able to raise the issue in the house; discussion is not being allowed on it. "A very shameful incident took place in Unnao. We are not able to raise it in House. Discussion is not being allowed on it. What is happening? If we use harsh words, we are told not to use them. Right now I feel so angry that I don't end up beating you (reporters). There is no safety in UP. There is no law and order situation in the state of UP," said Jaya Bachchan

P Chidambaram violated bail conditions: Prakash Javadekar

New Delhi, Dec 05 (ANI): Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar criticized Congress party's leader P Chidambaram claiming that he violated bail conditions. "P Chidambaram has violated his bail conditions on the very first day. The court had asked him to not give any public statement on the case as a condition for bail but Chidambaram today said that his record as a minster was very clear," said Prakash Javadekar.

IK Gujral had said to Narasimha Rao that time to deploy the army. However Army was not deployed. If Army has been deployed then, the massacre could have been averted. Around 2000 lives could have been saved," said HS Phoolka. P Chidambaram arrives at Parliament

P Chidambaram was yesterday granted bail by Supreme Court in the INX Media money laundering case registered by the Enforcement Directorate. He was sent to Tihar Jail in connection with the case and got bail after 106 days. Supreme Court has restrained him from giving press interviews or making any public comment in connection with the case.
