Honey trap case: Indore Municipal Corporation demolishes buildings associated with Jitu Soni

Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Dec 05 (ANI): Three buildings, including 'My Home' - a bar, and a house were demolished by Indore Municipal Corporation on Dec 05. These buildings belonged to accused of Honey trap case, Jitu Soni. Earlier, FIR has been registered against Jitu Soni, his son Amit Soni, under IPC Section 370 in connection with Indore honey trap matter.

Study explores relationship between obesity and gum disease

New Delhi, Dec 05 (ANI): A new study explores how the most common non-communicable diseases, Obesity and gum (periodontal) might be related to each other. It also highlights the effect of obesity on non-surgical periodontal care. The study was published in 'British Dental Journal.' The connection between obesity and gum disease isn't as simple as cause-and-effect, said Andres Pinto, co-author of the study at the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. Instead, the relationship centers on what both diseases have in common: inflammation. Examining a large number of existing studies, researchers found that data showing increased body mass index, waist circumference and percentage of body fat to be associated with an increased risk to develop gum disease, also known as periodontitis. Shimla man seeks appointment as executioner in Tihar to hang Nirbhaya gang-rape case convicts

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Dec 05 (ANI): A social activist from the city has offered his services as a temporary executioner in Tihar jail, New Delhi so that justice may be given to the perpetrators of the 2012 Delhi gang-rape case. Ravi Kumar said he has written a letter to President Ram Nath Kovind seeking his appointment on a temporary basis, as currently there is no executioner in the Tihar jail. "Appoint me executioner. So the Nirbhaya case convicts can be hanged soon and her soul rests in peace," he said. The social activist added that he was troubled by the rising instances of rape in the country. "It has been seven years and such incidents are increasing across the country. It is painful to hear the news about rape case in Telangana and also Kotkhai rape case of Shimla," he said. "I want to set an example. I am sure this will reduce the rape cases by 50 per cent after these convicts are hanged. Eastern Naval Command conducts Naval Operational Demonstration on Navy Day

Onions leave customers teary-eyed in Patna

Patna (Bihar), Dec 04 (ANI): Onion prices remain high across the major cities of the country. The prices of the onions have reached Rs 100/kg in Bihar's Patna. Several budget hotels have also stopped the usage of onions in food preparations. To control the rising prices, the government is importing 11,000 tonnes from Turkey. Speaking to ANI, a customer said, "The whole budget of our house has been affected." Sensex closes 175 points higher ahead of RBI monetary policy

New Delhi, Dec 04 (ANI): Equity indices closed in the green on December 04 amid expectations of another interest rate cut by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and report that the United States and China are moving closer to a trade deal. The BSE SandP Sensex closed 175 points higher at 40,850 while the Nifty50 was up by 43 points at 12,037. Except for Nifty realty, all sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the positive terrain with Nifty PSU bank ticking up by 1.9 per cent. Among stocks, Tata Motors was star of the day after posting gains of 7 per cent at Rs 169.30 per share. Private lenders Yes Bank and ICICI Bank moved up by 5.8 per cent and 3.8 per cent respectively.

Chinmayanand case: Allahabad High Court grants bail to Law student

Delhi Police Chief inaugurates 'Mobile Canteen Van' for CP reserve Staff

New Delhi, 4 November (ANI): Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik inaugurated 'Canteen Van' for CP reserve Staff at New Police Lines, Kingsway Camp. A mini bus was modified by Delhi Armed Police to serve the purpose. They are deployed in various law and order situations like riots, crowd management, religious gatherings, various festivals, and political rallies etc. The nature of duty of CP reserve staff is such that in situations of continuous and prolonged law and order problems, they need to put in prolonged hours of duty. Due to that, they are unable to take meals on time due to exigencies of duty. As a welfare measure, food articles, snacks, aerated water, soft drinks, etc will be carried by the Mobile Canteen Van to their places so that the staff is served with eatables while on duty.
