Addressing the troops, PM Modi said, "There are many border areas but this region where you are, is unique. Be it war, insurgency, infiltration - this has had to suffer all of it and it has come out of that every time. It's a region which has never seen defeat. It's not only victorious but also invincible."

1600-kg bull center of attraction at Buffalo festival in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Oct 27 (ANI): A Haryana-based champion bull 'Sartaj' has become the center of attraction of buffalo carnival titled 'Sadar' in Hyderabad. The total weight of the champion bull is 15-16 quintal. He is seven feet tall and 15 feet wide in size. By now 'Sartaj' has won several prizes and last year in the same competition, he had won Rs 1,25,000. He has won awards and prizes around 25 times. Last year 'Yuvraj', 'Shehanshah' and 'Dara' also participated in this festival. The festival is taking place in Narayanguda area of Hyderabad.

BJP member dies after party's clash with TMC workers in WB's Hoogly

New Delhi, Oct 27 (ANI): President Ram Nath Kovind paid floral tributes to former President KR Narayanan on the occasion of his birth anniversary at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Kocheril Raman Narayanan was the 10th President of India from 1997 to 2002. He was the first person from the Dalit community to hold the highest office in the country. The President also tweeted greetings to fellow Indians on the auspicious day of Diwali. He called on citizens to share the happiness and spirit of this day to those who are less fortunate and needy.

Very severe cyclone 'Kyarr' intensifies into super cyclone, minimal impact on Goa: IMD

Panaji (Goa), Oct 27 (ANI): Rahul M, Scientist from India Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa said that very severe cyclone Kyarr has intensified into super cyclone but its impact on Goa would be minimal. Rahul said, "Very severe cyclone Kyarr has further intensified into super cyclone. Now it is over east central Arabian Sea, approx 650 km away from Goa. Even though the system is very severe over east central Arabian Sea, it is going to have very minimal impact on Goa." He further added, "As on today there are no heavy rainfall warnings for coming 5 days. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea for 24 more hours. After 24 hours they should not venture into east central Arabian Sea where this system is persisting."

JJP- BJP govt to stay afloat for 5 years in Haryana: Ajay Singh Chautala

Chandigarh, Oct 27 (ANI): Ajay Singh Chautala, father of Dushyant Chautala, said in Chandigarh that JJP-BJP government will work together for next five years. He attended the oath ceremony in Chandigarh. Ajay Chautala came out of Tihar Jail on furlough for two weeks on October 27. "What can be a better occasion for a father, than this? Congress can say anything they want to but this govt will go on for 5 years and work for the development of Haryana. There could not have been a better Diwali than this," Ajay told ANI.

Chandigarh, Oct 27 (ANI): Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda reacted on JJP- BJP alliance government and said that JJP disrespected people's mandate, and the coalition government was based on selfishness. NCP's Nawab Malik alleges delay in inauguration of Mumbai bridge, threatens to open it himself

Mumbai, Oct 27 (ANI): Nawab Malik, the Mumbai president of Nationalist Congress President (NCP), on October 27 protested by standing atop of a JCB machine near the under-constructed Chunabhatti-BKC flyover, and alleged intentional delay in the inauguration of the bridge, and said that he will himself open the flyover for public use. Later, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority and police officials too stood on top a JCB machine, and convinced him to come down. After ending his brief protest, Malik said the officials have assured him that the bridge will be opened in a week's time after completion of some signal work.
