Chennai, Oct 27 (ANI): Indefinite strike of Federation of Government Doctors' Association entered third day. They are demanding appointment of more doctors, among other demands. Protesting doctors, including five doctors who are on a fast to death, are also seeking an increase in salaries, quota in medical education and appointment of more doctors among other demands.

Cleanliness drive underway after 'Deeptosav' celebration in Ayodhya

Ayodhya (UP), Oct 27 (ANI): Cleanliness drive is underway in UP's Ayodhya after the 'Deeptosav' celebration in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya. UP government on October 26 broke its own Guinness World Record for the largest display of oil lamps by lighting a total of 5.5 lakh diyas or earthen lamps in Ayodhya as part of the grand celebration. The Guinness World Record termed the event as "amazing". Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on October 26 also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development projects worth Rs 226 crores in the temple town. Diwali is celebrated to mark the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile.

Congress leaders meet DK Shivakumar in Bengaluru

Air quality remains 'poor' on Diwali morning in Delhi

According to Air Quality Index (AQI), major pollutants PM 2.5 was at 266 and PM 10 was at 234 on October 27. Smog was also seen in the skies of the national capital today. Watch: RPF personnel saves passenger who slipped from moving train

Coimbatore (TN), Oct 27 (ANI): Another example of Railway Protect Force (RPF) personnel's alertness was seen at Coimbatore railway station. An alert RPF personnel saved a person, who slipped while attempting to board a moving train in the railway station. CCTV footage shows man entered into moving train lost his balance and slipped. An on duty RPF personnel, who was just five feet away from the train swung into action and pushed the passenger inside the coach. If a RPF personnel wasn't there, the man would have fallen down through the gap of train and platform.

Nicholas Burd, professor of kinesiology and community health at the University of Illinois, US, said: "Our study's aim was to expand and diversify race-fuelling options for athletes and offset flavour fatigue." The scientists recruited 12 participants, who were healthy and devoted to their sport, averaging 165 miles (267 kilometres) per week on their bicycles. All had been training for years. To qualify for the trials, the cyclists had to reach a specific threshold for aerobic fitness and complete a 120-minute cycling challenge followed by a time trial.
