It is an annual tradition under which officials shift from state's summer capital Srinagar to Jammu for period of six months. Offices remain closed in Srinagar from Oct 25 till Nov 4 under 'Darbar move' exercise.

AAP, Congress trying to take credit of Centre's decision on unauthorized colonies: Manoj Tiwari

New Delhi, Oct 26 (ANI): Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Manoj Tiwari on Saturday said that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress party are trying to take the credit of unauthorized colonies, both the parties fooled Delhi people in this matter. He said after the Central government approved a proposal to give ownership rights to close to 40 lakh people living in the unauthorized colonies in Delhi and both the parties started taking credit.

'Deepotsava' begins in Ayodhya

Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 26 (ANI): 'Deepotsava' celebrations are underway at Ram Ki Paudi in Ayodhya on Oct 26. Over 5.50 lakh earthen lamps were lit at Saryu Ghat as a part of Diwali celebrations. Tourists flocked in large numbers to witness the grand 'Deepotsava' celebrations. Bank of River Saryu has been illuminated with colourful lights. 'Deepotsav' is declared as "state fair" by the government.

People of Haryana never wanted JJP-BJP alliance: Haryana Congress Chief

New Delhi, Oct 26 (ANI): Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee president Kumari Selja said that people in Haryana never wanted Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) to forge alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state. "JJP garnered votes against BJP, but now they have decided to go with alliance, people never wanted this in Haryana, however, we wish them luck as opposition," said Selja while talking to ANI. BJP led by CM-designate ML Khattar today staked claim for forming the government in Haryana. Khattar said JJP's Dushyant Chautala will become Deputy CM of the state.

Dushyant to be Deputy CM, swearing-in tomorrow: Khattar after meeting Governor

Chandigarh, Oct 26 (ANI): BJP leader Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday said that the BJP, with support from JJP and independent MLAs, has staked claim to form government in Haryana. He said, "Governor has accepted our proposal and invited us. I have tendered my resignation which has been accepted. Tomorrow at 2:15 PM oath taking ceremony will be held at Raj Bhavan. Dushyant Chautala will take oath as Deputy CM."

CM Adityanath arrives in Ayodhya to participate in 'Deepotsav'

Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 26 (ANI): Ahead of 'Deepotsav' celebrations on October 26, the preparations are in full swing in Ayodhya. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath arrived in Ayodhya to participate in 'Deepotsav'. Over 5.50 lakh earthen lamps will be lit at Saryu Ghat, today evening as a part of Diwali celebrations. Ram Leela from seven countries will be the main attraction on the occasion. Moreover, around 2,500 children are preparing Lord Rama's life events, his bow and arrow, and pictures. 'Deepotsav' has been declared as "state fair" by the government.

Indo-Japan joint military exercise 'Dharma Guardian 2019' underway in Silchar

Silchar (Assam), Oct 26 (ANI): The second edition of bilateral military exercise, 'Dharma Guardian 2019' is underway between Indian and Japanese Armies. Indian contingent is represented by a battalion of the Dogra Regiment whereas the Japanese contingent is represented by 34th Infantry Regiment, 1st Div of Japanese Ground Self Defence Forces (JGSDF). 'Dharma Guardian 2019' also tested skills of soldiers in conducting joint operations in counter-terrorism scenario.

2 injured after portion of footpath collapsed in Rajasthan's Sirohi

Chandigarh, Oct 26 (ANI): Union Law Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on October 26 said the BJP will form the government in Haryana with the support of Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) and independent MLAs, but clarified that controversial MLA Gopal Kanda will not be a part of the state government. RS Prasad added that there will be only one post of deputy chief minister, which will be from the JJP. Prasad further said the council of ministers will be decided by the Chief Minister.
