Militants killed in Tral were associated with Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind: J-K DGP

Srinagar (J-K), Oct 23 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in Srinagar on October 23, Director General of Police (DGP) of J-K Dilbag Singh said, "In Tral, three local militants associated Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind were killed yesterday (October 22). Before that, in an operation in Anantnag, three militants were also neutralized."

Delhi police recover around 700 kg of illegal firecrackers

Two bird smugglers arrested in Ghaziabad, 5 owls recovered

Ghaziabad (UP), Oct 23 (ANI): Ghaziabad Police arrested two bird smugglers and recovered five owls of rare species from their possession. Acting on a tip-off, the duo was nabbed before they could sell owls to a buyer who was planning to sacrifice owls in the name of social malpractice. SP Ghaziabad City, Manish Mishra said, "We got the information about two people who are involved in bird smuggling. We have arrested them and seized five owls of rare species from them. There is social malpractice in which owls are sacrificed on Diwali by exorcists. They were arrested before they could deliver owls to a buyer. We are tracing the buyer." Later, the police handed over owls to the Forest Department officials.

TikTok surpasses Facebook, Instagram in app downloads

New Delhi, Oct 23 (ANI): Video creating and sharing app, TikTok, has surpassed top social networking apps including Instagram, Snapchat, Helo, and Twitter, in terms of downloads on the Google Play Store. The Sensor Tower Report 2019 ranked TikTok as the most downloaded social media app worldwide for September 2019 with close to 60 million installs, with downloads from India constituting 44 per cent of its total downloads, the official blog notes. Facebook was the second most installed app, with the highest installs from India at 23 per cent. Instagram, Likee, Snapchat were among the top five apps in terms of overall downloads.

Kamlesh Tiwari murder case: Both main accused arrested by Gujarat ATS

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Oct 23 (ANI): In the latest development in Kamlesh Tiwari murder case, Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) nabbed two main accused. The accused persons have been identified as Ashfaq Hussain Jakirhussain Shaikh (34) and Moinuddin Khurshid Pathan (27). They both were arrested by Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) from the Gujarat Rajasthan border. Giving the information Gujarat ATS, DIG Himanshu Shukla said that Ashfaqhussain Jakirhussain Shaikh (34) and Moinuddin Khurshid Pathan (27) - were the main accused in the murder of Tiwari. On October 18, Kamlesh Tiwari was shot at the Naka area of Lucknow and succumbed to his injuries at a hospital during the treatment.

UP police will take transit remand of key accused: DGP OP Singh

Lucknow (UP), Oct 23 (ANI): Director-General of Police (DGP) Uttar Pradesh, Om Prakash Singh said that two key accused arrested in Kamlesh Tiwari murder case will be taken into transit remand by state police and the investigation in the case is going in the right direction."Our teams were looking for them based on the evidence against them. All police teams including Gujarat Police, Maharashtra Police and Uttar Pradesh police coordinated with each other. Our investigation is in the right direction and there are good chances of conviction. We will take them into transit remand and will bring them to Lucknow as soon as possible," he said. Police thrashes demonstrators commemorating 'black day' in PoK
