Rajpura (Punjab), Oct 22 (ANI): Farmers continued to burn stubble in Uksi Jattan village in Rajpura from Punjab. Despite Punjab government's ban, burning of farm residue continued in several areas of Punjab due to lack of alternatives. Over 100 cases of stubble burning have been reported so far. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has claimed that stubble burning in neighbouring states is one of the main causes of air pollution in the national capital.

Protesters were of the view that country needs good bank not big banks. The central government announced the merger of 10 public sector banks on August 30. After this, the total number of PSBs will come down to 12 from 27 banks.

She said, "An application has been filed in the Court of Judicial Magistrate stating that the Gangster Act should also be invoked against the four accused persons, including the woman's father in extortion case." The girl is accused of demanding extortion money to the tune of Rs 5 crore from Chinmayanand. She was also sent to judicial custody in a case of extortion registered against her in the matter.

The District Food and Supplies Department has seized four vehicles with adulterated food items in Uttar Pradesh's Greater Noida on October 21. Adulterated 'Paneer' worth Rs 10 lakh was seized from four vehicles. The quantity of the paneer was around 4000 kg. The entire operation was conducted under the supervision of SDM Dadri and District Administrator of GautamBuddha Nagar. While speaking to ANI, the Food Safety Officer Rakesh Kumar said, "There were four vehicles in which we have seized around 4000 kg of 'paneer'. The amount of 'paneer' is worth Rs 10 Lakh. The seize operation was conducted under the supervision of SDM Dadri and District Administrator of Gautambuddha Nagar." "We have taken the samples and will send it into laboratories for check-up. Further, on the basis of report we will take action on this matter," he added. The adulterated food was being taken

Kolkata, Oct 22 (ANI): Governor of West Bengal Jagdeep Dhankhar tirade his guns at the state government after his meeting with state officials was cancelled citing the absence of permission from state government. Dhankhar said, "Is it an appropriate step to be taken, that when the government of that state wants to meet someone there has to be censorship? There has to be approval? There is permission from the state government? I am no subordinate to the state government." Jagdeep Dhankhar had called for a meeting on October 22 with state officials such as Member of Parliaments (MP) and District Magistrate (DM). His meeting could not be arranged without the permission of state government.
