BILL-E robot can build structures block by block

New Delhi, Oct 18 (ANI): Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have developed a new robot called BILL-E, named after WALL-E, which could revolutionise how the construction industry works. BILL-E (short for Bipedal Isotropic Lattice Locomoting Explorer) has small arms with tools at the end of each to clamp down on structures - called voxels. The robot and the voxel work together as a system to navigate 3D space without sensors, cameras, or algorithms, Engadget reports. Without all the complex systems, BILL-E tracks its position by counting its steps on the structure it is tasked with building. As it works together with the voxels, it is easier to fix damaged parts.

Frequent drinking more dangerous than infrequent binge drinking: Study

New Delhi, Oct 18 (ANI): Do you consume alcohol frequently, or in portions? If your answer is yes then a new study shows that drinking small amounts of alcohol frequently is linked with a higher likelihood of atrial fibrillation than infrequent binge drinking. The study was published in the journal 'EP Europace', a journal of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC). The number of drinking sessions per week was the strongest risk factor for new-onset atrial fibrillation. Compared with drinking twice per week (reference group), drinking every day was the riskiest, with a hazard ratio (HR) of 1.412, while drinking once a week was the least risky (HR 0.933). Binge drinking did not show any clear link with new-onset atrial fibrillation. Atrial fibrillation is the most common heart rhythm disorder and raises the risk of stroke by five-fold. Symptoms include palpitations, racing or irregular pulse, shortness of breath, tiredness, chest pain and dizziness.
