Giant gate erected using veggies in Mamallapuram to welcome PM Modi, President Xi

Mamallapuram (Tamil Nadu), Oct 11 (ANI): Department of Horticulture has erected a huge gate near 'Pancha Rathas' ancient monument in Tamil Nadu's Mamallapuram. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President, Xi Jinping are expected to visit the place later today. Around 18 varieties of vegetables and fruits, brought from different parts of the state are used in this decoration. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping's 2nd informal meeting will begin in Tamil Nadu's Mamallapuram on Oct 11.

Muslims should handover Ayodhya land to Hindus for lasting peace: Former AMU VC

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 11 (ANI): Former Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice Chancellor Lt General (retired) Zameer Uddin Shah has said that Muslims should hand over the disputed land at Ayodhya to Hindus for the sake of lasting peace in the country. In an interactive session organised by the Indian Muslims for Peace, Shah said, "Supreme Court should give clear verdict, it should not be 'panchayati' at all. Even if Supreme Court gives judgment in favour of Muslims, will it be possible to build mosque there? It's impossible." He further said, "In case judgment is in favour of Muslims, for lasting peace in country, Muslims should hand over the land to Hindu brothers. There has to be a solution otherwise we will go on fighting. I strongly support out-of-court settlement."

Layer of smog envelopes Delhi after air quality deteriorates

New Delhi, Oct 11 (ANI): Heavy smog was seen in the skies of the national capital on October 11. Major pollutants PM 2.5 at 185 in 'Moderate' category and PM 10 at 201 in 'Poor' category were reported in Lodhi Road area, according to the Air Quality Index (AQI) data. Hemkund Sahib closes for winters in Uttarakhand's Chamoli

Chamoli (Uttarakhand), Oct 11 (ANI): The portals of sacred Sikh pilgrimage place Hemkund Sahib were closed for winters. The Gurdwara is located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Around 2.5 lakh people visited the Sikh shrine in Garhwal Himalayas this year. The gates of the Gurdwara will be reopened in May 2020. Stressed pregnancy might hinder infants' brain development

New Delhi, Oct 11 (ANI): While stress is at no time considered healthy, maternal stress during or even before pregnancy can affect the infant's brain development, found a new study. The study looked at the relationship between maternal stress and brain development in 251 premature kids. Researchers found evidence for the impaired development of a white matter tract, the uncinate fasciculus, in babies whose mothers experience more stress in the prenatal period. These findings were published in the Journal Biological Psychiatry. A score of severity of stress was calculated based on how many stressors they experienced as well as how severe those stressors were. This is what was related to the baby's brain. Kozhikode serial murder case: Police requests court for custody of accused

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Oct 10 (ANI): The crime branch of the Kerala Police requested to court to send the accused to police custody in Kozhikode serial murder case.
