India, Brazil to ink over 15 agreements during President Bolsonaro's visit: Brazilian Envoy

New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): Speaking to ANI Brazil's Ambassador to India, Andre Aranha Correa do Lago informed that more than 15 agreements will be exchanged with government and institutions during President Jair Bolsonaro visit to India. "He is very excited to participate in the most important day of the year. It is the most prestigious invitation India can make. On Jan 25, there will be a series of high-level meetings. We'll exchange over 15 agreements with government and institutions. A plan of action will be launched by 2 leaders (President and PM Modi) for our strategic relationship which we want to make more dynamic," said Brazil Ambassador. Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has been invited as a chief guest on Republic Day 2020. He will be on a 4-day visit to India.

DMK passes resolution favouring citizenship for Sri Lankan Tamils

Chennai, Jan 21 (ANI): Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) president MK Stalin chaired party executive meeting at party headquarters 'Anna Arivalayam' in Chennai on Jan 21. Six resolutions have been passed at the meeting including against NRC and NRP. In the meeting, they also passed resolutions in favour of granting Indian citizenship to Sri Lankan Tamil refugees.

Equity indices subdued amid weak global cues as IMF trims growth forecast

New Delhi, Jan 21(ANI): Equity Benchmark indices were flat during early hours after IMF trimmed its global growth forecast for 2019 and 2020.The BSE SandP Sensex was down by 91 points to 41,438 Meanwhile, Nifty 50 edged lower by 15 points at 12,209. Asian Paints fell by 1.9percent, UPL dropped by 1.7percent, Mahindra by 1.5percent, Tata Steel by 1.3percent.

Chandigarh university student invents app-based, battery-operated cycle

Chandigarh, Jan 21 (ANI): A university student in Chandigarh invented an application-based battery-operated cycle for the students living in hostel to travel to their classes. Bicycle spot can be traced through the application. Free rides are being provided to girls during their menstruation periods. Speaking to ANI, Jai Charcha who invented the bicycle said, "My main purpose was to serve university students, so that they can easily carry their books. They can carry up to 500 kg of load and cover 60 kilometers per charge."

Fire fighters wrestle to control Surat market blaze

Surat (Gujarat), Jan 21 (ANI): Fire fighters continued their efforts to control the massive fire that broke out at the Raghuveer Market in Surat on Jan 21.
