Delhi Police crackdown transportation network of illicit liquor

New Delhi, 06 January (ANI): During performing night corridor, patrolling police team noticed that one person was removing some items in suspicious condition from a car in Dwarka area. On noticing this, they went near the car and noticed that four to five cartons of illicit liquor were on the ground and few cartons of illicit liquor were in the car. On this, constables reloaded the illicit liquor back to the car and directed them to come with them to police station for legal action. In the meantime, a Scorpio car with six persons came there. They stopped the car and started assaulting both the constables. They even tried to snatch service pistol from them. During this scuffle, one of the constables fired one round in the air and one on the ground in his self-defense. The round fired on the ground hit near the ankle of one accused. Howrah (West Bengal), Jan 06 (ANI): Speaking on recent JNU violence, Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee said, "My background is, though I am today a politician but I started my political career as a student leader, as a student worker. They are torturing the students and professor and it is very disturbing, it is a dangerous planted attack on democracy. Anyone who speaks against them is labelled a Pakistani and an enemy of the country. We never saw such a situation in the country before this." She further said, "Delhi Police is not under Arvind Kejriwal rather it is under Central Government. On one side, they have sent the BJP goons and on the other side, they made the police inactive. Oil, gold prices climb higher as Middle East tensions flare

New Delhi, Jan 06 (ANI): Oil and gold prices continued surging on Monday as escalating tensions in the Middle East fanned worries about disruption to global oil supplies, sending investors scurrying to safer investments. Brent crude oil soared past 70 dollars a barrel, rising by more than 2 per cent on Monday, while West Texas Intermediate crude rose by 1.8 per cent to 64.21 dollars. Al Jazeera said oil prices had jumped by more than 4 per cent on Friday after the United States killed Iran's Quds Force leader Qassem Soleimani in an air attack near Baghdad airport.

Delhi CM not allowing Ayushman Bharat scheme to be implemented for his political interests: Shah

New Delhi, Jan 06 (ANI): Home Minister Amit Shah laid foundation stone for Delhi 'Cycle Walk' on January 06. Speaking at the event, Shah said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi has caused most harm to the poor of Delhi. He said, "Kejriwal just for his political interests is not allowing Ayushman Bharat scheme to be implemented. People have now seen through you Kejriwal, AAP was wiped out in MCD and Lok Sabha polls." Efforts are on to normalise situation of University: JNU Chief Proctor

New Delhi, Jan 06 (ANI): While speaking to ANI in Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Chief Proctor, Dhananjay Singh on Monday said that it is very unfortunate that there has been unabated violence in the University. He said, "We had a very good meeting today with the secretary of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). Efforts are on to normalise the University." On Sunday evening, more than 18 students of the university, including JNUSU President Aishe Ghosh, were injured and were taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre after a masked mob entered the JNU campus and attacked them and professors.

Reminded of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack: Uddhav Thackeray on JNU violence

Mumbai, Jan 06 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray condemned the attack in the campus of Jawaharlal Nehru University and said that it reminded him of terror attack of 26/11. He said, "I was reminded of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. Investigation is needed to find out who were these masked attackers." Masked goons vandalized the campus of JNU and attacked people in the evening of January 05, where more than 30 students and professors have sustained injuries.

New Delhi, Jan 06 (ANI): A dreadful violence was happened at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) where some outsiders beat students and professors on Jan 05. Speaking on JNU violence, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar said, "We condemn JNU violence. Congress, Communist, Aam Aadmi Party and some other elements are deliberately trying to create the atmosphere of violence in the country and in universities. And, that is why it is necessary to investigate this matter properly. It was happening for last three days and yesterday some outsiders did the violence here. So, it all should be investigated even the other violence that happened earlier. Mr Amit Shah gave the order and I believe police will perform its duty efficiently. This is the conspiracy of some people to deliberately create unrest in universities. They should also be busted. "

Locals in Bengaluru hold protest against JNU violence

Bengaluru, Jan 06 (ANI): Protesters in Bengaluru staged their outrage against the JNU violence on January 06. The protest was staged at Bengaluru's Town Hall. Speaking on it, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi said, "I condemn this violent behavior perpetrated by those cowards who have definitely the support from the ruling party. There is no doubt these people were given the green signal by the powers that be. They had covered their faces in a cowardly way and were allowed to enter JNU with rods and sticks. They attacked the president of the University. The worst is there is a video which shows Police allowed them safe passage and when people came and protested, the same slogan of hatred were raised. Winter vacation extended, university will open in phases: AMU PRO

Aligarh (UP), Jan 06 (ANI): Omar Saleem Peerzada, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) PRO informed that the University which was to reopen on January 06, has already extended winter vacation keeping the prevailing situation in mind. "After a consultative meeting based on reviewed situation it was decided that winter vacation will be extended. University is not opening today and it will open in phases. Situation is under control in the campus," said PRO.

Coimbatore college organises native cow breed show

Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Jan 06 (ANI): As a part of 'Pongal' festival and 'Velan Thiruvizha 2020', a native cow breed show was held in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore. The event was organised by Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology. More than 200 cows participated in the show and cows and bulls were divided into four categories based on their age and native breed. The aim of the festival was to encourage natural agriculture. The 'cow show' attracted the tourists the most.

General Secretary of Communist Party of India (CPI), D Raja said, "Firstly, what happened in JNU, was horrific. Nobody can justify such fascist violence. Police was there in full strength and the top officials were present there. Why didn't they stop the masked goons. What, till now, there is no single arrest? Delhi Police should answer this. Delhi police means, the police and the Home Minister Amit Shah. He should answer that there is no such arrest so far. I don't know whether the injured students were give adequate medical care or not. Whatever is happening in JNU is fascism in action. JNU is facing the fascist takeover. " He further said, "This is what I am saying what is happening in the country.
