Children were buried at Taj Sultanpur village in Kalaburagi on the morning of December 26 during solar eclipse as parents believed that their children will be cured of deformities by this. DCP Special Cell Pramod Kumar Kushwaha said, "Special cell team busted a Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) racket and arrested 5 people involved in it. Fake Indian currency notes with face value of Rs 54.9 lakhs have been seized."

He said, "His statement undermines the Modi government. Our Prime Minister writes on his website that as a student he participated in protest during emergency. Then, according to Army Chief's statement that was also wrong."Earlier in the day, the Army Chief said that leaders are not those who lead people in inappropriate direction. He added, "As we are witnessing in large number of universities and colleges, students the way they are leading masses and crowds to carry out arson and violence in cities and towns. This is not leadership."
Kolkata, Dec 26 (ANI): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the families of those who lost their lives in Mangaluru during anti-CAA protests. She said, "We will do this to show solidarity with these families. I heard that 2 people lost lives during protest opposing CAA and NRC in North Bengal. Centre should look into it." CM Mamata Banerjee continued her protest opposing Citizenship Amendment Bill and National Register of Citizens in Kolkata today. Protestors including TMC workers and supporters came out in large number to participate in the protest march.
Chandigarh, Dec 26 (ANI): Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana and Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) chief, Dushyant Chautala, reacted over MLA RK Gautam's resignation as party's vice president. Chautala said, "He is a senior leader, if he has some grievance, he can come and tell the party members. We've not received his resignation yet. Senior party leaders will talk to him and discuss the matter." MLA Gautam on Wednesday said he has resigned as JJP's vice president over the functioning of the party, but added that he will remain with the party.

Kolkata, Dec 26 (ANI): Continuing her fight against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on December 26 led another protest march in Kolkata against the new citizenship law. Hundreds of anti-CAA protestors along with TMC leaders and workers joined the party chief in her bid to up the ante against the central government. While addressing the rally, Banerjee said she will tell all the students to continue their protest against CAA for their democratic rights in a democratic way.

Shamli (Uttar Pradesh), Dec 26 (ANI): Unidentified armed robbers dismantled a transformer installed at a power station in UP's Shamli and looted valuable material worth an estimated Rs 8 lakh. The armed robbers arrived at the Power Station on a mini truck and held hostage by the staff which was on routine duty. An investigation into the matter has been initiated.
Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), Dec 26 (ANI): Temperature has dropped down in Ghaziabad due to heavy snowfall in parts of North India. Keeping winters in mind, Ghaziabad Administration issued a notice to shut all the schools for two days. Speaking on it, District Magistrate of Ghaziabad said, "The cold is increasing. It is excruciating for children to go schools in winters and it is not good for their health as well. That's why, we took decision to close all the schools for two days (Dec 27-Dec 28). After that it is Sunday so, kids will get a total of three-day off. If the weather is good from Monday and the forecast is right then the schools will re-open."

Tibetans-in-exile organise the annual prayers in the final month according to the Tibetan lunar calendar. The festival is called Gutor in Tibetan Buddhism. Buddhists monks offered prayers and performed dances. After the prayers and Lama dance, the monks threw objects signifying bad omen into the fire.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Dec 26 (ANI): BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya has slammed Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath for refusing to implement the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in the state and said that he should read the Constitution.
