"Yesterday was a black Saturday in the history of Maharashtra. It was an accidental-oath-taking ceremony. People are sleeping and they are not even aware of the move," said Sanjay Raut.

Delhi continues to reel under 'poor' air quality

President of Republican Party of India, Ramdas Athawale said that Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress alliance has right to go to Supreme Court and we also have right to form the government in Maharashtra. "Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress has complete right to go to the Supreme Court, but we have also right to form the government because BJP had 120 MLA. Mega Wall Painting to promote 'Swachhta Abhiyan' at Chennai Airport

4 arrested for running fake e-commerce website in Agra

High antibiotic use may elevate Parkinson's disease risk

New Delhi, Nov 24 (ANI): Too much intake of antibiotics adds up to the risk of Parkinson's disease, stated a new study. A higher exposure to commonly used oral antibiotics is linked to an increase in Parkinson's disease risk, according to the study published in the journal Movement Disorders. The strongest associations were found for broad-spectrum antibiotics and those that act against anaerobic bacteria and fungi. The timing of antibiotic exposure also seemed to matter. It suggested that excessive use of certain antibiotics can predispose to Parkinson's disease with a delay of up to 10 to 15 years. This connection may be explained by their disruptive effects on the gut microbial ecosystem. Exposure was classified based on number of purchased courses. Exposure was also examined by classifying antibiotics according to their chemical structure, antimicrobial spectrum, and mechanism of action.

Hyderabad girl sets two world records in different disciplines

Hyderabad, Nov 24 (ANI): Sahruda, an eight-year-old student has several record-breaking achievements; the girl has set two world records, approved by Elite World Records LLC, USA. They are -- the most number of Origami models (102) by an individual (minor-female) in 20 minutes, and most number of Ceramic tiles (350) broken by an individual (minor-female), in 20 minutes. The previous record in the ceramic tile category was 262, set by a North Korean record holder. Sahruda, speaking to ANI said: "I have attempted 3 world records and broke 2 world records and several national and state records. For the ceramic tile event, I practised breaking the tiles, which are 5 mm thick, with my teacher. I have also attempted to break another record in colouring and Origami models."

Appointment of Jayant Patil as legislative party leader invalid: BJP's Ashish Shelar

Mumbai, Nov 24 (ANI): As the NCP sacked Ajit Pawar and appointed party state president Jayant Patil as its legislative party chief, BJP leader Ashish Shelar on Saturday slammed the decision terming the appointment 'invalid'. "BJP is of the view that Ajit Pawar's appointment as NCP legislative party leader was valid and appointment of Jayant Patil in his place today is invalid," said Shelar. In a major twist, Ajit Pawar pulled off a political coup in Maharashtra by joining hands with the BJP and taking oath as Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis's deputy, following which he was expelled as the legislative party leader of his party. In a surprise development, Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra on Saturday morning for a second term.

2 under trial prisoners escape from police van in UP's Aligarh

Aligarh (UP), Nov 24 (ANI): Two under trial prisoners escaped from the police van in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh on November 23. The prisoners were identified as Mukesh and Sugeet both ran away while going towards court for hearing. While speaking to media persons, a police official said, "Both prisoners have the criminal record and they ran away while going towards court for hearing." Police investigation is underway in the matter.

OnePlus reveals third-party accessed users' data

New Delhi, Nov 24 (ANI): OnePlus has found itself in another embarrassing spot after it found that its users' information was accessed by unauthorised third-party. In an official blog, the company revealed that its security team discovered that some of its users' order information including name, contact number, email, and shipping address may have been exposed. While OnePlus has taken steps to reinforce security, the impacted users are likely to receive spam and phishing emails as a result of unauthorised access. All payment information, passwords, and accounts are safe, the company confirmed.

Ludhiana (Punjab), Nov 23 (ANI): Despite the ban, stubble burning continued along Ludhiana highway in Punjab. The latest footage came from Malerkotla road near Paliwal village. From September to November each year, farmers burn tons of crop waste from their paddy fields after harvesting, as a low-cost straw-disposal practice to reduce the turnaround time between harvesting and sowing for the second (winter) crop. It is said that stubble burning is main cause of increasing air pollution in Delhi-NCR.
