Stock Market LIVE Updates: Market expert view

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Overall market sentiment remained weak, with more stocks falling than rising, even though some defensive stocks showed stability. The main reason for the market’s reversal was fresh global concern after Donald Trump announced a 25 per cent tariff on countries doing business with Iran. Since China is Iran’s largest trading partner, investors feared broader trade tensions.

This negative global cue outweighed optimism around ongoing India US trade discussions. Earnings from IT companies also disappointed the market. TCS reported steady revenue growth, but its net profit fell nearly 14 per cent Y-o-Y, which did not meet investor expectations. HCL Technologies also saw an 11 per cent decline in profit, despite strong revenue growth and healthy order inflows. As a result, IT stocks faced selling pressure, dragging down the broader indices. The rupee weakened slightly against the dollar due to global risk aversion and higher crude oil prices. Looking ahead, markets may stabilise as India-US trade talks progress and domestic institutional support remains strong. However, geopolitical risks and foreign selling could keep volatility high in the near term.

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Technical view

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Nifty 50 formed a red candle with a long upper shadow, reflecting rejection near the 25,900 resistance zone, where heavy Call OI supply is present. The inability to sustain higher levels highlights persistent overhead pressure. However, the index successfully defended the 25,600–25,650 support zone, aligned with the 100-day EMA and the prior reversal base, preventing deeper downside and enabling a modest recovery back above 25,700. Immediate support is placed at 25,650–25,600; a sustained break below this band could increase downside pressure toward 25,500. On the upside, resistance is seen at 25,800–25,900, with a stronger barrier at 25,950–26,000. A decisive close above this range would be required to open room toward 26,100 and above.

While the short-term undertone remains cautious following recent breakdowns, the combination of yesterday’s hammer-style recovery and today’s successful defense of key supports suggests a phase of short-term consolidation or an early bottoming attempt, rather than an immediate trend reversal.
