Stock Market LIVE Updates: The domestic market failed to sustain its early gains as a late-session sell-off reflected the prevailing 'buy-on-dips, sell-on-rallies' strategy, highlighting investor caution. Auto and ancillary stocks continued to rally on expectations of demand recovery following GST rate cuts, while IT remained weak amid global uncertainties. 

 

Globally, sentiment improved after soft US jobs data raised hopes of a Fed rate cut in September. However, renewed concerns over sanctions on Russian oil pushed crude prices higher, and gold extended gains as trade-related uncertainties sustained demand for safe-haven assets.

Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets once again encountered resistance at higher levels, with the Nifty unable to sustain above the 100-DMA, currently positioned around 24,800. On the daily chart, the Nifty formed a Doji candle, reflecting indecision among market participants. On the downside, immediate support remains at 24,710, followed by 24,620. 

 

Overall, the market continues to lack a clear directional bias, and the Nifty is expected to consolidate within a broader range of 24,600-24,950 ahead of the weekly expiry. A decisive breakout above the 25,000 mark is crucial to trigger a fresh leg of the uptrend. If this breakout occurs, it could pave the way for a rally towards 25,300, and potentially extend to 25,500.

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Shares of Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) rose over 3 per cent after the company signed a long-term exclusive agreement with Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies Pte Ltd, Singapore, to foray into a new market. 

 

The heavy electrical equipment maker's stock rose as much as 3.01 per cent during the day to ₹218.7 per share, the biggest intraday gain since August 5 this year. The stock pared gains to trade 2.6 per cent higher at ₹217.7 apiece, compared to a 0.46 per cent advance in Nifty 50 as of 1:37 PM. 

 

Shares of the company rose for the second straight session and currently trade at 2.4 times the average 30-day trading volume, according to Bloomberg. Stock Market LIVE Updates: The settlement cycle for cash, derivatives, and securities lending and borrowing mechanism (SLBM) segments has been revised after September 5 and September 8 were declared as settlement holidays by clearing corporations, markets regulator Sebi said on Monday.

 

The decision has been taken in consultation with stock exchanges and clearing corporations, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) said in a statement.

Stock Market LIVE Updates: India recorded $15.9 billion worth of transactions in August, led by two major cross-border acquisitions, according to Grant Thornton Bharat’s latest Dealtracker report. The activity marked a three per cent rise in volumes but a marginal three per cent decline in value from July.

 

Excluding capital market deals, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and private equity (PE) transactions totalled $13.2 billion across 212 deals, up seven per cent in volume and 46 per cent in value from the previous month.

Stock Market LIVE Updates: Chief Economic Adviser V Anantha Nageswaran on Monday said the 50 per cent tariff imposed by the US could reduce India’s gross domestic product (GDP) by 0.5 per cent in FY26.

 

"Depending upon how long it lasts even in this financial year, it may translate into a GDP impact of somewhere between 0.5 per cent to 0.6 per cent," he told Bloomberg TV.

 

Nageswaran said he hopes the tariffs are a "short-lived phenomenon". If they extend into the next financial year, he cautioned, the drag would be greater and pose a “major risk” to India’s growth momentum. READ MORE
