Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany has a viral infection which is affecting his legs and is doubtful to attend Wednesday's Champions League home game against Arsenal.
Assistant coach Aaron Danks said Tuesday that Kompany might need three more days to recover, as he spent the day at home.
"It has affected his legs at times and he's felt some pain," Danks said as he took Kompany's place at Bayern's pre-game news conference.
"It's just a virus. The doctors, the experts, know way more than I do. The most important thing we've just encouraged is that he rests, he takes the time he needs, whatever that may be, however long that may be.
"Whether that's tomorrow or whether that's two, three days' time, I don't know at this moment. Getting Vince to rest is a challenge."
Kompany was subdued and remained seated in Bayern's 6-1 win over Leipzig in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
Sporting director Max Eberl said at the time that Kompany, who reportedly needed help to climb stairs, had been strug

Paris Saint-Germain forwards Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia went off injured against Barcelona in the Champions League.
The Ballon d'Or winner Dembele pulled up clutching the back of his left thigh following a run down the left in the 19th minute on Tuesday.
He signalled to the bench and asked to come off. Spain's World Cup-winning forward Ferran Torres replaced him.
Kvaratskhelia hurt his right foot when he landed awkwardly after sprinting back to make a tackle on Xavi Espart. He looked in pain and was helped off in the 59th minute. France winger Maghnes Akliouche came on for him.
PSG coach Luis Enrique used Dembele sparingly in the French league last season and has already rested him twice in Ligue 1 during this campaign.
The 29-year-old Dembele has struggled with injury setbacks during his career.
PSG was also missing star left back Nuno Mendes against Barca due to a thigh injury.

Manchester City played in front of thousands of empty seats as fans stayed away from the Champions League clash against AEK Athens.
A well-below capacity crowd of 40,042 attended City's 5-1 win, with swathes of empty rows visible inside the newly-expanded 61,000-seater Etihad Stadium.
The lowest attendance for a City home game this season is around 32,000 for the English League Cup match against second-division Norwich last month.
All other home matches this season have had attendances of 60,000-plus.
"I think the ones that were in the stadium, they were good," City coach Enzo Maresca said. "In the last game against Ipswich they were top, and now we have next week two games at home against Brighton and I have no doubt that the environment will be top again."
The low turnout was a surprise given City fans have been in defiant mood since the club was found guilty of widespread financial wrongdoing, which could see it face a range of punishments including a huge fine, points deductio

Gianni Infantino's campaign for re-election as FIFA president is set to move this week to Japan and a meeting scheduled for Wednesday with the Asian Football Confederation.
This comes after Infantino apologized last week in Zurich, Switzerland, to FIFA's 37-member ruling council - which he chairs - for "mistakes" he made in assembling a now-scrapped $4.2 billion sell-off plan for the World Cup.
The council is the main decision-making body at FIFA with a global spread of officials.
The planned meeting with Asian soccer leaders is to be held in a five-star hotel in Tokyo with the media largely excluded.
Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the president of the AFC, expressed early opposition to Infantino and his plan to create a subsidiary to run the World Cup, but may have moved closer to Infantino, The Athletic has reported.
Infantino has offered to critics an open, independent review of how FIFA makes its decisions.

The Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) on Thursday said an athlete has been sent back from the ongoing Asian Para Games in Japan for alleged misconduct and will face "stringent" action, including a possible life ban, after the conclusion of the mega-event at the end of this week.
Without naming the athlete or detailing the nature of his offence, the PCI said its primary focus right now is to support the contingent as it continues a strong run in the Games that will conclude on Saturday.
"The Paralympic Committee of India maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of sexual misconduct or behaviour that violates the dignity, safety and rights of others," it stated.
"In the present matter, the Chef de Mission (CDM) has recommended the strictest disciplinary action, including a lifetime ban against the athlete concerned. The athlete has been sent back to India from Japan.

India's Nitesh Kumar and Naveen Sivakumar clinched gold medals in men's singles SL3 and SL4 respectively in the badminton competition at the Asian Para Games here on Friday.
Nitesh produced a clinical performance to beat compatriot Pramod Bhagat 21-18, 21-16 in a clash between two Paralympic gold medallists.
"Very happy to win the Asian Games gold medal. Last time I was close, I was leading 19-16 in the third set, and then I lost. So this time, winning it and again winning in two sets against Pramod is, of course, very special, and I think it's one of the rarest of the rare things to see," said Nitesh, the Paris Paralympic gold medallist.
Naveen then showcased his prowess to beat Indonesia's Fredy Setiawan 21-9, 21-17 in 36 minutes to claim the top prize.
Bhagat, who had won gold in the 2018 and 2022 editions, had to settle for silver.

Vinicius Junior's scoring slump continued in his return to the Real Madrid lineup in the Champions League.
The Brazilian forward had an ineffective performance and couldn't find the net in Madrid's 4-1 win over Leipzig at home on Wednesday, reaching nine straight appearances without a goal for the Spanish club.
"It's actually a very good thing that he's sad because it means he really cares about the team and the fans," teammate Kylian Mbappe said. "He needs to stay calm and be proud of who he is, because a great player always has to be proud of who he is, and regain his confidence, because he has the quality."
There were some boos at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium when Vinicius made a mistake while trying to make a pass to Jude Bellingham about halfway through the first half. Bellingham immediately applauded, as if asking for the crowd to get behind Vinicius. Parts of the crowd also chanted his name at times.

A goal and an assist from Harry Kane wasn't enough for Bayern Munich to beat Arsenal.
Kane's England teammate Declan Rice scored a second-half equalizer for last season's runner-up to secure a 2-2 draw at six-time winner Bayern in a matchup of two European heavyweights in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Rice traded passes with Viktor Gyokeres before finding the target eight minutes from time.
Kane converted a penalty earlier in the second half to increase his total to 16 goals in 23 career matches against Arsenal, having scored every season against the London club from 2014-15 to 2023-24 - mostly with Tottenham.
Kane also sent Alphonso Davies in on goal when Bayern responded to Eberechi Eze's opener for Arsenal.
It was Kane's 10th straight Champions League match with a goal moving within one of Cristiano Ronaldo's record of scoring in 11 consecutive games (set in 2017 and 2018).
"We had some good moments, just not enough over the full 90 (minutes)," Kane said.

Walking out on the Portugal camp earned Cristiano Ronaldo a 30-day suspension and 255 euros ($285) fine from the national federation.
The Portuguese Football Federation had provisionally suspended Ronaldo and on Monday called the punishment "adequate and sufficient."
The federation said Ronaldo fully admitted the facts underlying the charges through a formal statement submitted on Friday. It said his confession and clean disciplinary record helped to reduce the punishment.
The fine was the maximum allowable by the federation after mitigating circumstances were taken into account.
Ronaldo can appeal the suspension, but he had already apologized and said he expected to be punished. He had not immediately reacted publicly to news of the suspension.
During recent Nations League fixtures, Ronaldo played in the opening win over Wales then was an unused substitute in a win in Norway on Sept. 27. Ronaldo accused coach Jorge Jesus of breaking an agreement to play him and walked out. Withou

NorthEast United FC rode on a brace from Alaaeddine Ajaraie to beat Kerala Blasters FC 4-1 in an Indian Super League match at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium here on Sunday.
Ajaraie scored in the 15th and 70th minutes for the Highlanders. Antonio Moyano (45+4) and debutant Aman CK (82nd) were also on the scoresheet for the home side.
NorthEast United broke the deadlock in the 15th minute, as Eneko Satrustegui's needled pass found Ajaraie through on goal. The Moroccan made no mistake, rounding Arsh Anwer in the Kerala goal before slotting home without fuss.
The Highlanders continued to threaten, with Arsh denying Jithin a second goal in as many games by pushing his header off target to keep his side in the contest.
The Blasters looked to respond through striker Andre Green, whose effort in the 38th minute was blocked by Satrustegui. Only moments later, defender Amey Ranawade's attempt to convert Adrian Luna's cross went in vain as his effort failed to test Gurmeet Singh in the ..

Paris Saint-Germain left back Nuno Mendes faces several weeks out after suffering a tear in his left thigh, the French champion said Sunday.
The Portugal international came off in the 53rd minute of Saturday's 3-1 win at Strasbourg in Ligue 1.
The injury is also a blow for PSG coach Luis Enrique, given that Mendes would likely have marked Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal in their Champions League game on Tuesday.
Yamal operates from the right flank and often cuts inside. The 19-year-old Yamal has scored nine goals overall this season for Barcelona, which has won all its 11 games so far in La Liga and Champions League, and has also been in terrific form for Spain.
Veteran France left back Lucas Digne will likely start the game at Parc des Princes in Paris.

Manchester United coach Michael Carrick apologized to supporters after a humbling 4-1 loss to Como in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Carrick described the performance in Italy as unacceptable and took responsibility as United's season slumped to a new low.

Carrick walked over to the traveling fans at the end of the match and repeatedly held his hands up in recognition of the defeat.
It was United's fifth loss in all competitions this season and extended the team's winless run to seven games.
"It was more than disappointing. I think everybody has got to take responsibility for that," he said. "I 100% take responsibility for the overall team and the performance - that's where it stops. It stops with me and I'm absolu

Paris Saint-Germain was too powerful for even Lamine Yamal's magic as it ended Barcelona's 11-game winning run to top the Champions League table.
A thrilling end to the game with four goals in the last 20 minutes delivered a statement win for PSG, which is joined Liverpool as the only teams with three victories after Alexis Mac Allister led a rousing 4-3 comeback triumph over Villarreal on Tuesday.
Yamal had just displayed stunning skill to level the score at 2-2 from a narrow angle when PSG took the lead again through Vitinha, before Fabian Ruiz added another for a 4-2 victory.
"We never feel like we're powerless, or that we're beaten in any way," PSG forward Desire Doue said. "We always know there's an opportunity as long as the final whistle hasn't gone,"
Injuries to stars Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia took some of the shine off the win for PSG, which could now face having to cope without two of its biggest difference-makers in attack.
