Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke said on Sunday his agitation over alleged irregularities in examinations and recruitment tests will not stop until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. Dipke also said their protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Saturday was largely successful, with around 7,000 people participating in it, and added that the movement would now expand nationwide. No fire at office: Education ministry dismisses Cong's 'fishy' concern

CUET-UG delayed at some centres due to technical issue, timing revised: NTA

The CUET-UG 2026 for admissions into undergraduate degree programmes across India was delayed at some centres on Saturday due to a technical glitch, the National Testing Agency said. NCERT granted 'deemed-to-be university' status, empowered to award degrees

The National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has been formally declared a deemed-to-be university empowering it to award its own degrees, officials said. Union Minister of State for Education Jayant Chaudhary on Monday said the National Education Policy (NEP) does not impose one language, including Hindi, on any state, rather it "explicitly promotes multilingualism". Responding to supplementary questions in Lok Sabha during the Question Hour, the minister noted that while Tamil Nadu has expressed some objection to the NEP 2020, the central government has released Rs 538 crore to the state under the Samagra Shiksha, a flagship central school education programme.
