Alstom T&D India Q2 net loss at Rs 1.8 cr

Total income from operations declined to Rs 682.99 crore, during the quarter under review, from Rs 748.02 crore in the year-ago period

Alstom T&D India, an arm of French firm Alstom, today posted a net loss of Rs 1.81 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2012.

The company had registered a net profit of Rs 40 crore in the corresponding period last financial year, Alstom T&D said in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges.

Total income from operations declined to Rs 682.99 crore, during the quarter under review, from Rs 748.02 crore in the year-ago period (July-September 2011).

Alstom T&D India is engaged in the power transmission business. It has presence in all stages of the power supply chain including Power Transformers, Circuit Breakers, Gas Insulated Switchgears, Instrument Transformers, Protection Relays and Power System Automation equipments etc.

Shares of the company were trading in the afternoon at Rs 202.65, down 0.71% on the BSE.
