DoT may raise demand of Rs 1,600 cr from telcos

The department of telecommunications (DoT) may raise a demand of Rs 1,600 crore from five telecom companies — Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications, Vodafone, Idea and Tata for underreporting revenues in 2006-2008. The demand has been raised as per a special audit report by the DoT for assessment year 2006-2008.
