Hyderabad-based Gayatri Projects limited has bagged Rs 1,255 crore highway contract in joint venture with Russian construction company PTPS for engineering, procurement and constriction (EPC) basis from the National Highway Authority of India.

The contract involves rehabilitation and upgradation to 4-laning of Angul-Sambalpur section of NH-42 covering a length of 153 km. The project is under the fourth phase of the National Highway Development Programme ( NHDP-4).

"This contract is a strong signal of the management's commitment to capitalise on the growing EPC opportunities, and comes on the close heels of winning several new projects ranging from national highways to water distribution and underground mining. In the last 18 months, the company's order book has more than doubled to over Rs 10,000 crore on a robust inflow of orders, all of which have been through the EPC model," the company said in a filing with Bombay Stock Exchange.
