Indiabulls Power Nashik plant's boiler becomes functional
The 1,350 MW power plant is located at Sinnar in the district

Indiabulls Power today said the boiler of its Nashik power plant, having capacity of 270 MW, has become functional.
The 1,350 MW power plant is located at Sinnar in the district.
"Indiabulls Realtech, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Indiabulls Power has successfully conducted the boiler light up for the first 270-mw unit of our 1,350-mw plant at Sinnar," the company said in a statement.
The commercial operations of the unit are now expected to commence in January, it said.
"This plant is uniquely located in western Maharashtra where power demand of the state is concentrated. Lots of power plants are located in eastern Maharashtra and the state has had to spend huge amounts of money in building transmission lines," Indiabulls Vice-chairman Rajiv Rattan said.
The company is constructing two coal-based projects having capacity of 2700 MW each at Nandgaonpeth in Amravati district and Sinnar in Nashik district.
Indiabulls will fuel its plants through coal linkages from Coal India, the release said.
"The company does not have any allocated captive coal blocks. This places Indiabulls projects in financially much stronger position in comparison to others which are solely dependent on imported coal or on captive coal blocks which are under a CAG cloud," Rattan added.
