With its Delhi campus set to commence classes soon, the Hyderabad-based International School of Film and Media (ISFM) is now looking at setting up a campus in Ahmedabad. According to Kurt Inderbitzin, renowned Hollywood producer and CEO of ISFM, the institute is looking to offer short term courses in film direction and editing once its Ahmedabad campus is up in next 2-3 years.

"While we have begun taking classes in Ahmedabad, there are scores of aspiring film makers in the city. Hence, in the next 2-3 years we are looking at setting up a complete ISFM campus in Ahmedabad. We intend to provide short term courses in film direction, editing, sound, camera and lighting, among other things," said Inderbitzin.

To begin with, the institute will be looking at a batch strength of 15-20 students at its Ahmedabad campus. While short term courses will be offered from the Ahmedabad campus, for long term courses students will be referred to the Hyderabad campus, said Inderbitzin.

This year ISFM's Delhi campus is set to commence classes, the second such campus after Hyderabad. On the other hand, Inderbitzin has been conducting one-hour interactive workshops across the country in film making. After such events in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Chennai, Bangalore and Kochi, the Hollywood producer and director was recently in Ahmedabad for a session. Along with a class in film-making and the techniques involved in it, he also elaborated on the importance of art direction, camera, lights, sounds and costumes during the film making process.

What's more, subsequently, there will be an interactive session in Ahmedabad where the students learn about the varied courses offered by ISFM and the making of documentaries, films and TV serials.

On his part, Inderbitzin has taught film-making to thousands of students at film schools around the world.

In India, he was the founding Dean of Whistling Woods International in Mumbai, one of the largest film and television institutes in India, and is currently the CEO of film actor Nagarjuna's International School of Film and Media (ISFM), in Hyderabad.

Founded by Annapurna Studios and the Akkineni family, the International School of Film and Media (ISFM) is providing a world-class learning experience by bringing best practices of international higher education in film-making, direction and acing courses. The institute has associated with popular film makers, actors and directors such as Hema Malini, Maniratnam, Kamal Hassan, Prakash Raj and Anushka Shetty who will be part of the academic advisory council and provide their valuable guidance in designing the academic curriculum, recommendations on faculty and curriculum content.

Meanwhile, many media companies have joined ISFM as placement partners, including Annapurna Studios, Balaji Telefilms, Reliance Mediaworks and Maa TV among others.
