JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals today posted a profit of Rs 619.95 crore for the second quarter ended September 30.
The company had a net profit of Rs 44.61 crore for the same period in the previous fiscal, JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
As the company sold its Russia-CIS OTC business to Cilag GmbH International, a subsidiary of US-based Johnson and Johnson for Rs 754.53 crore, the results of the current quarter are not comparable with the same period previous fiscal.
The company's total income stood at Rs 193.65 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2011. It stood at Rs 237.47 crore for the same period last financial year.
Shares of JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals today closed at Rs 78.40 on the BSE, up 1.69% from its previous close.
