Business conglomerate Godrej Industries Ltd on Tuesday reported an 81 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 322.49 crore for the April-June quarter of 2024, on higher income.
Its net profit stood at Rs 178.06 crore in the year-ago period.
Total income increased to Rs 5,259.41 crore in the April-June period of 2024-25 fiscal, from Rs 4,893.40 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a regulatory filing.

On business performance of its subsidiaries, joint ventures and associate companies, Godrej Industries said the consolidated sales of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) stood at Rs 3,311 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal.
Godrej Properties' total Income grew to Rs 1,638 crore in April-June period of this fiscal, from Rs 1,315 crore in the year-ago period.

Patel Engineering Ltd on Tuesday reported a 25.81 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 48.17 crore in the April-June quarter of 2024.
It had posted a Rs 38.29 crore net profit from operations during the year-ago period, the company said in an exchange filing.
The company's revenue from operations declined by 1.52 per cent to Rs 1,101.66 crore in the June quarter.
It was at Rs 1,118.61 crore in the year-ago period.

Emergency fire crews on Thursday continued to battle a blaze at Tata Steel UK's steelworks at Port Talbot in south Wales, which a workers' union said had caused "substantial damage".
The Mid and West Wales Fire Service rushed several firefighters to the site on Wednesday evening and soon confirmed that on-site workers had all been accounted for and safely evacuated.
The company said emergency services remain on site and are working with local teams to completely "extinguish the fire".
"The incident is not related to the safe and successful demolition of the empty, redundant Gas Holder earlier yesterday (Wednesday) evening," reads a Tata Steel UK statement.
"We would like to thank local site teams and the emergency services for their prompt and professional action," it adds.
Unite workers' union general secretary Sharon Graham confirmed that no one was injured in the fire after workers were evacuated safely.

A FEMA investigation against Flipkart-backed online fashion-and-lifestyle platform Myntra has been "terminated" after the RBI issued a compounding order on the basis of a "no objection" given by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issued the order on April 20 in the case of Myntra Designs Private Limited, the ED said in a statement.
The central agency had initiated a probe against the e-commerce platform last year for alleged contraventions of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), based on "credible" information.
A compounding order in the regulatory context means a formal decision taken by an authority to settle an offence by allowing the defaulter to pay a monetary penalty instead of facing prosecution.
The agency was probing the company for two alleged contraventions of the FEMA covering transactions worth about Rs 46 crore. Myntra, according to the ED, made a one-time payment of Rs 2.88 lakh to get the case compounded or closed.

Global financial services firm Goldman Sachs on Thursday bought more than 1.13 crore shares of Billionbrains Garage Ventures, the parent company of Groww, from venture capital firm Friale for Rs 210 crore through an open market transaction.
Goldman Sachs, through its affiliate Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE, purchased 1,13,43,750 equity shares, representing a 0.18 per cent stake in the Bengaluru-based trading platform, according to block deal data available on the BSE.
