Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (KPTL), a turnkey player in power, infrastructure, and asset creation, has bagged orders worth Rs 600 crore in India and Congo.
According to a press release issued by the company, the scope of the order received from Societe National d'Electricite (SNEL), Congo's national electricity company, includes turnkey execution for design, supply and installation of a 400 KV – 279 km DC transmission line from Inga to Kinshasa. Funded by the European Investment Bank, the project is to be completed in 24 months.
The release says KPTL has also secured 2 orders from Power Grid Corporation of India for supply and erection and commissioning of 765 KV - 238km transmission line in Orissa and Madhya Pradesh. Power Grid's expansion plans are aimed at integrating an additional 37,000 MW (megawatts) of power to facilitate inter-regional transmission of electricity across the country.
With the receipt of these orders, the total order book of KPTL is Rs 5,300 crore.
The company will require to manufacture and supply over 33,000 mW of Transmission Towers for these 3 projects.
"These projects are with price escalation clause, which will cover any fluctuations in input material prices." said the Managing Director (MD), Pankaj Sachdeva.
