Kanchan Parulekar gets 'Sarda Award'

Kanchan Parulekar, director of Swayamsiddha, Kolhapur, has been conferred the prestigious national-level Sarda Equal Opportunity Award, instituted by the Nashik-based Sarda Group. She was presented with this prestigious award at a glittering ceremony held recently in Mumbai, in the presence of Dilip Deshmukh, rehabilitation and sports minister, Maharashtra. The award comprised a cheque of Rs 7.51 lakh, a citation and a memento.

The national-level Sarda Equal Opportunity Award is given every year individuals and organisations for their outstanding contributions to provide equal opportunities to the women, backward classes and the weaker sections of the society, especially in the field of sustained income generation and education.

 

“Every individual has to take forward seven education-related steps- art, sports literature, knowledge, science, technology and selfless service. Today Swayamsiddha organisation has worked hard to achieve this goal. Our organisation aims at bringing out the best potentials housewives and makes them self-reliant. This award has elevated our united strength and encouraged us to make such woman more confident,” said Parulekar.

Sarda Group is engaged in diversified business in Food & Healthcare, mall, floriculture, hospitality and TMD sector. Sarda Group has two state-of-the-art manufacturing plants in Nashik and Anand.
