India's largest passenger car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki Saturday reported a .40% decline in total sales including exports for February, which stood at 109,104 units due to a fall in exports.
The company had sold 109,567 units in February 2013.
There was a sharp drop in the company's exports. Maruti Suzuki exported just 9,346 units last month, which was 19.50% less than 11,612 units sold overseas during the corresponding month of 2013.
However, the company's domestic sale increased by 1.80% to 99,758 units during the month under review as compared to 97,955 units sold in February 2013.
Sales in passenger cars segment, which comprises of brands like M800, Alto, A-Star, WagonR, Swift, Estilo, Ritz, Dzire, SX4 and Kizashi, inched higher by 0.90% at 84,595 units from an off-take of 83,865 in the corresponding month of 2013.
The off-take of utility vehicles like Gypsy, Grand, Vitara and Ertiga slumped by 12.20% at 5,231 units from sales of 5,957 units in February 2013.
However, sales in van segment that includes brands like Omni and Eeco, gained 22.10% at 9,932 units from an off-take of 8,133 units in the corresponding month of 2013.
