With the small and medium enterprises (SME) industry being as large as 350,000 units in Gujarat, Faridabad-based Nano Cranes Pvt. Ltd. (NCPL) is looking to sell over 600 units of its Vector crane. Part of the Urastun Group, the company recently launched the one tonne capacity pick and move crane in the state for a price of Rs 4.5 lakhs.
"Our target sector is SME since it is they who need material handling equipment for average weights between 100 kgs and 800 kgs. However, currently there are only large capacity cranes worth over Rs 8-9 lakhs which are not viable for the SMEs. Hence, our products will be better suited for the SME industry," said Rahul Marwaha, managing director of NCPL.
With already a manufacturing capacity of 3,000 units per annum, NCPL is looking to expand its crane manufacturing facility at Faridabad. "We have a project cost of Rs 100 crore, of which we have already invested around Rs 25 crore for the plant. We not only intend to expand the manufacturing capacity of the Vector crane, but also look at introducing more such small capacity material handling equipment in near future," said Marwaha.
Unlike other cranes that have a minimum capacity of 4-8 tonnes, NCPL's Vector crane has a low capacity of one tonne.
