With technological advancement and globalisation, intellectual property rights (IPR) has become an important tool for growth withbusiness security, says The International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI).
While trademarks add value for the customers and also provide guarantee of source and quality, patents protect rights of the innovators. In the AIPPI seminar on 'IP Awareness & Challenges of Global Competitiveness', the key message that came across was the need to protect such rights through proper regulating systems. The seminar in Ahmedabad was a pre-event activity to the AIPPI Forum & ExCo meeting to be held at Hyderabad in the month of October this year.
This IP Seminar was chaired by Justice R R Tripathi and Kamal Trivedi, Advocate General of Gujarat, Ravi Saxena, additional chief secretary, Department of Science & Technology, Gujarat government.
