Nikon plans to double India's input to global turnover in 3 years

Company has around 55% market share in D-SLR category and 43% in the compact category

Nikon plans to double India's contribution to its global turnover in 3 years

Nikon plans to double India's contribution to its global turnover in the next 3 years.

"Currently, India's contribution to our global turnover is 2.5% and we plan to increase it to 5% in the coming 3 years," said Sajjan Kumar, Vice-President Imaging, Nikon India.

Nikon India is market leader in India with around 55% market share in D-SLR category and 43% in the compact category and the company is upbeat about demand in the coming days, added Kumar.

Nikon India plans to maintain its number one position in India in the coming years by giving its customers good buying experience and prompt service.
 

The company also plans to increase the number of outlets and D-SLR and COOLPIX zones in India.

Currently, the company has around 4000 authorised outlets in India and 120 D-SLR and COOLPIX zones.

The company plans to open more than 10 D-SLR and COOLPIX zones in the the coming two years.

"Promoting photography culture in India is a key to Nikon and to achieve this, we aim to strengthen our outreach across the country enabling customers to exercise their photography skills," said Kazua Ninomiya, Managing Director, Nikon India.
