NTPC-Talcher achieves record generation

The Talcher Thermal Power Station of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Ltd has achieved a record power generation of 3887.69 million units in 2012. This is the highest ever power generation recorded by the power station in any calendar year since its inception, stated an official release. The plant load factor during the period was 96. 21 per cent. The over 45 year old power station after being taken over by NTPC from the erstwhile Odisha State Electricity Board (OSEB) in 1995 has made a remarkable turnaround, delivering excellent performance year after year, contributing to growth and prosperity of the state.
