Unitek Borri International Industrial Power Solutions, a joint venture between Kerala-based Unitek Power Solutions and European power equipment maker, is all set to tap the Punjab market.
Company managing director Johan Zachariah said here on Friday that they would primarily focus on the textile cluster, which was facing unscheduled power cuts. “Punjab and Haryana have a large number of small and medium units. The UPS manufactured by the company is ideal for the SMEs in the region,” he added.
To cater to the Punjab market, the company has opened a marketing and service centre at Mohali near Chandigarh.
It is also investing Rs 20 crore for expansion of its manufacturing unit at Pazhanganad in Eranakulam district of Kerala. “We have a joint venture with Borri and the foreign partner would have a 20 per cent stake in the new facility,” he said.
