Reliance Power Q3 net up 7% to Rs 144 cr

Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) company Reliance Power today reported a 7.45% increase in net profit for the quarter ended December 31, 2010, to Rs 143.61 crore.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 133.65 crore for the same period last fiscal, Reliance Power said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Total income of the company rose to Rs 355.13 crore in the October-December quarter from Rs 179.16 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal, it added.

Shares of the company surged by 3.65% in early trade on the BSE to touch a high of Rs 119.05.
