Tata Power increases consumer base to 5 lakh in Mumbai

Tata Power's consumers below 300 units account for almost 65% of its total consumers in the city

has increased its to 5 lakh consumers in in April. The highlight of this milestone was the last leg addition of 2 lakh consumers, consuming electricity below 300 units.

Tata Power’s consumers below 300 units account for almost 65% of its total consumers in the city. These consumers below 300 units category also enjoy lowest tariff in the city.

Besides, the company is undertaking steady network expansion within the city with a focus on 11 clusters post receiving directions from Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission on August 22, 2012.

It has added 695 Kms of cable network till March 2014. In addition to this, has added 7 additional Distribution Sub Stations (DSS) and 118 Consumer Sub Stations (CSS), totaling the DSS to 24 DSS and 637 CSS.

The Company already has 27 Customer Relations Centres across the city to facilitate prompt and easy payment of electricity bills and also accommodate those people wanting to switch to it as their preferred power supplier.
