Samsung wants to be a leader in everything from TVs to mobile phones
It is an aggressive Korean chaebol that wants to be one of the biggest players in the Indian marketplace. Samsung is struggling to reach the top slot in every product from colour televisions, washing machines and mobile phones to refrigerators and microwave owens.
It wants to sell 1 million colour television sets by end 2003 and it is hoping to double turnover from an estimated Rs 2,800 crore this year to Rs 5,000 crore by end 2003.
