Tata group firm Trent Ltd today reported 35.89% increase in standalone net profit at Rs 17.34 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, on account of higher sales.
The company had reported net profit of Rs 12.76 crore in the April-June quarter of last fiscal, 2012-13.
Trent's net sales increased by 16.58% to Rs 241.44 crore in the quarter under review as against Rs 207.09 crore in the corresponding period last year, the company said in a BSE filing.

Overall expenses of the company were at Rs 236.93 crore during the quarter, an increase of 11.53% at Rs 212.43 crore logged in the year-ago period.
Trent Ltd scrip closed at Rs 1,002.35 on the BSE, down 0.26% from the previous close.
