TVS Motor two-wheeler sales up by 26 % in May

Scooter sales, which rose 60%, pushed the volumes

TVS Motor has reported a 26% growth in two-wheeler sales during the month of May 2014 at 201,234 units as compared to 159,346 units, a year ago. The growth was driven by scooter sales, which reported around 60% growth.

Domestic two-wheeler sales reported a 24% growth to 174,234 untis in May 2014 as compared to 140,056 units a year ago.

Scooter sales grew by 60% to 53,924 untis from 33,747 units and motorcycles sales were up by 28% to 85,475 units from 66,606 units in May 2013.

Exports increased by 42% to 34,623 units from 24,393 units in the year-ago period.. Two-wheeler exports increased by 40% to 27,000 units from 19,290 units.
 

Three-wheeler sales rose by 56% to 9,059 units from 5,805 units.
