UltraTech Cement Q2 net up 140% at Rs 279 cr

Cement company UltraTech Cement reported an almost threefold increase in net profit at Rs 279 crore for the quarter ended September 2011 as against Rs 116 crore a year ago.

Net sales too clocked a 21% jump at Rs 3,910 crore compared to Rs 3,215 crore earned in the corresponding period in 2010.

The scrip was down 0.61% at Rs 1,115 on Bombay Stock Exchange at 1400 hours.
