United Phosphorus net up 76%

United Phosphorus has posted a 75.67 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 21.52 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2004, compared with Rs 12.25 crore in Q1 of the previous year.

Total income (net of excise) rose to Rs 365.66 crore (Rs 264.22 crore), the company informed Bombay Stock Exchange.

On a standalone basis, the company's net profit and total income stood at Rs 9.08 crore (Rs 6.4 crore) and Rs 208.34 crore (Rs 176.9 crore) respectively, it added.
